1,2,3 at Notre Dame, 2, 3, 4 at crimson invite in a slow race. Possible 1,2,3 at nationals without qualifying as a team?

Everyone who is fast dopes.
Not gonna happen. They can't even beat a 30 something finisher at nationals last year in a home meet.
Once they go up against some good runners like fisher, linkletter, or knight they wont stand a chance.
They'll likely have 2 of the top ten, but 1, 2, 3 is not gonna happen.
I think they are most definitely doping
Agreed.
Sounds like you peaked in the middle school 1.5 mile conference race. Maybe if you would of doped you wouldn't be stuck in a dead end job injecting insulin three time's a day.
Seems like a kinda weird situation with 3 Kenyans who are NCAA top 10 contenders all on one team with the next best guy on the team being almost 20sec/mile slower. I wonder what the story behind their situation is? I suppose if they were trying the strategy of recruiting an entire Kenyan All-Star team to crush the competition without having to really do much developing of athletes, they got it 60% done. Sounds like an easy way to the top.
They were all new transfers from either D2 or naia. They just don't risk scholarships with recruiting, they just give the money to people who have already proven themselves.
Not sure what their goal is of this besides points in track. Pick up the easy distance points in the sec. Also they are all junior eligibility so they could be developing them all for a good shot next year.
Crimson Classic results said the 3 of then were Juniors. Will they be back next year? If Bama finds 2 decent runners they could be a real threat.
Rumor is they didn't give much money to a 9:06 3200m runner, so I doubt they want to build up a team. At least they don't have the scholarships to right now.
Tell us how you really feel. 😂

Cross Country in the south. Nobody gets much money.

Just the opposite. South Central and South Regional schools typically have to offer substantial scholarships to athletes who would have to walk on in other regions. Team averages of 25:00 or 18:20 mean nothing on the national level, but for Big South, SoCon, Atlantic Sun, Southland and Sun Belt (am I missing any?) a team like that could compete for a Conference title. Lost of southern schools throw money at 4:20/5:20 athletes and the competition for those athletes in the deep south is tough.
Few schools completely ignore distance, even in the south, and there are plenty of examples of schools (Furman, Lipscomb, Belmont) that go all in on distance in the region.
Because the competition is so tight for marginal athletes, SEC schools tend to offer big scholarships to athletes from outside the region or country. Alabama is an example of a team that got lucky with three big scholarships for three high level athletes.
This may be the future of Alabama. Just recruit transfer Kenyans. They did it last year too with Alfred Chelanga. Might be just a matter of time before other schools catch on and let D2 take the risk on kenyans.
Should be the highest placing team with the least scholarship $$$ invested in their entire CC roster at nationals. Talk about efficiency, Dan Waters is the master.
Alabama's track roster is loaded this year. Talk about good on paper - it will be fun to see if they can put together a couple of top 5 finishes on the track as well as qualify for NCAA cross champs.
