Actually, it tells me that maybe her coach is pretty smart, for a few reasons.
1) She's only a freshman, why run her in both the 3000 and 1500 in less than 24 hours.
2) Unless your team is going for the team title (and sometimes even if they are), good coaching can mean deciding which race to run rather than running in everything. If you are a State Champion, no one cares what you did in any of your other races.
Would you rather be 1st in the 1500, or 2nd in both the 3000 and 1500?
3) I'd guess a college coach would much rather have the kid who ran less races at each meet than the one who constantly doubles and triples when they are 15-16 years old.
