If he's back in school for the spring semester of 2020, would he likely redshirt the 2020 XC season? Would that put him at 25 as a senior?

You are required to exercise for 30 minutes every morning, and at least when I went on mine, I walked around 12 miles a day with ~10 pounds of stuff. Fast walking in 100 degree weather—so I was definitely burning fat all day long, probably more than I do now actually training.

You are in crappy running shape when you get back, but really not that bad. I got faster than High School within 8 months. The softies who come back are the lazy ones who didn't exercise well, and went to a place where they got a car, and ate whatever crap they were given.

As ridiculous as people make a mormon mission out to be, at the end of the day you are just going to another country, walking around and asking people if they want to go to church. You also learn to work like no other.

Yep, the only college team that has an average age of 24 will continue to be one of the best. I can only imagine how much faster my team would have been if we all had "sophmore/junior" year off, then "senior" year redshirt, then 3 more years to compete. Sorry but if you decide to take two years off, you should lose 2 years of eligibility. Remember when Jared Ward got to race NCAA XC at 26?

I mean, there are a bunch of foreigners as well that are even older than 25. Its possible that Clinger leaves and cannot regain his form, it happens. Or he will come back and be a top dog again.

Not to highjack a thread or anything, but does the BYU team live the healthiest lifestyle in the NCAA? I don't imagine any of them drink or ingest caffeine or anything. Anybody have insight into this?

I ran at BYU and graduated almost 15 years ago, Eyestond had only been there a couple years. I came in at the bottom of a highly ranked class. After our missions about half quit within a year. Some guys regained their form within a few (including Ed in his day), I took a year which is more the norm. But there were several guys who never got better than their freshman year despite training for 3 after. Missions can do strange things. I didn't get to do any working out other than pushups and put on about 25 lbs. Some guys came back lighter. A bit of a crapshoot. I hope the best for him and Eyestone is a great coach. We'll find out in a couple years.

You never add an extra number of accuracy to numbers that don't already include it. If you know the months of birth then you do your type of analysis. That say the average will over 22, unless the all just turn those ages within a few weeks ago.

So if I have a binary variable taking 0 if a certain characteristic is satisfied and 1 if not and want to determine the average proportion of people with that characteristic within the population and come up with a figure of 0.9 it's still 0 because you don't add an extra number of accuracy?

Given educated opinions such as these I understand how your country could elect a Muppet as president but how the how the fck does your country actually produce anything of value when 95% of people appear to be severely mentally challenged?

What are the chances that Clinger comes back and is one of the top runners in the NCAA by his senior year? Is it mandatory for all students to go on a mission? Clinger is such a talent. It would be a shame for him to never reach his full potential.

He will probably do well but there is no guarantees. There is not requirement for BYU student to go on missions. There are non-Mormon students at BYU. The LDS church does encourage all able/worthy young men to serve a mission but it is totally voluntary.
