When are we as coaches going to sit down and decide on some roster limits?! This video is frustrating. The workout looks like the start of a marathon with crowds of guys funneling through the start. It's no wonder they are so good every year! They have 5 separate teams! Do we really need xc rosters of 50?? Are we such bad coaches that we can't field a 7 man team from a roster of 20?
It feels like the top teams in the NCAA win by either:
a) burning through massive amounts of bodies, like BYU here clearly is doing
or
b) recruit foreign athletes/mercenaries
NAU under Heins was one of the most amazing, respectable things I've seen. They won NCAAs, as a mid-major, with a FULL track team that would clean up at their conference meet indoor and outdoor!
