Compelling elite athletes to be microchipped is, without a doubt, a violation of their human and, based on where they are at any given moment, potentially constitutional rights. Further, microchipping is not without known health risks. Other health risks have yet to be examined. The fundamental questions is: If athletes are made to do this, why not doctors or lawyers? The latter group arguably serves a more vital societal function. If doctors or lawyers are made to do this, why not nurses, teachers, congressmen, etc? The spiral can be philosophically justified once any profession is mandated, and eventually it will span every individual down to the spitshine shoeshiner in a crowded subway.
