Sorry gang - but I really don't care what Shalane or Meb "feel" or "suspect" about anything, be it the NOP or really any other topic. This thread blows.

You lost me at "Mo is respected". You saw the real "Beijing Mo" in Edinburgh XC last year. That's how a 34yo that got walloped in 2008 as a 25yo runs. The interim Mo that goes to out of the way Ethiopian training camps with Aden and convicted dopers; misses drug tests because he couldn't hear a doorbell; and lies about being in Font Romeu whilst clearly in Sabadell is the Mo that wins global championships and runs 3:28.
Shameful and repulsive remarks from Flanagan. I did not think Meb was such a tool either. Half the world's top athletes are on the WADA suspicious list, yet they have already congratulated a number of them.... but they can't say at least "good job" to Rupp? What scum!
she just didn't want to piss off her former best bud Kara too much.

rupp ran 13:37 in high school. he broke meb's american record time when he was less than one year out of college. he's a better caliber runner than meb.
he's a freak.
He was also on PEDs in high school, per his team mate. Remember the guy that said Alberto told Galen to take his medication? That was in high school. Can I say again: HIGH SCHOOL!!!
It took a lot of courage for them to say what they and a lot of other honest, hard working athletes are thinking. We don't know yet how the investigation will be concluded but I respect their positions on this as a fan of clean and fair sport. Shalane has been personally burned by cheaters and Salazar & Co are looking pretty sleazy based on what we already know. I hope this gives athletes the confidence to speak up as well. Take the dopers head on.
Just out of curiosity, what did they say about Dibaba's win? I can guess, it was all sorts of superlatives, even though she and everyone around her is far more shady than NOP
This surprises me from those 2.
This is the salty kind of attitude I would expect from Desi Linden. She hates everyone.

Sorry, exactly what allegations and investigations is Jordan Hasay facing?
Has her name ever been implicated in any allegations involving the NOP which, BTW, date back to before she joined the group?
Oh look, a couple more people think NOP is shady? Zzzzzzzzzzz, wake me up when something real comes out of the investigation that is "still going on"
Hey now listen up.
My wife and I babysat Shalane in Boulder in 1982.
She was a crying baby then.
And she's a crying baby now.
I can't wait until I see Gault again in person. I hate his damn agenda. I thought he was smarter than this, but I guess when you're retired and a 2:08 runner for 800m, you get bitter.
Agreed. Why is this "super hot"?

They obviously don't know Galen Rupp or the Nike Oregon Project well. Flanagan and Meb(especially Coburn, Willis, Magness and others against the NOP) don't even know how hard they worked and how much sacrifices Galen made to achieve what he has. Keep on hating them and proving yourselves wrong.
#hatersgonnahate
They do know a PED investigation is on.
What a stupid statement to make,- why would anybody be questioning Dibabas win? - And if your answer is that she is "from Ethiopia" and therefore dodgy, that is as ridiculous as me accusing you of being a likely future mass murderer because you come from the United States!
I'm sick of the Jingoistic attitude westerners (predominantly British and Americans) have when it comes to perceived fairness verses shady skulduggery amongst athletes.
Whilst I have no beef with Rupp or Salazar and NOP in general, answer this,- how many of you are first to weigh in when it comes to the subject of Ayana doping, and yet express outrage if the blowtorch is applied to a leading American athlete?
The LRC owners hate rupp.
Why?
It creates clicks to hate Rupp.
Who clicks?
HS wannabes and old wealthy bored white guys.
There are about 600-1000 LRC regulars.
It's 65% kids, and 30% old white guys.
The remainder are stumblers who find the site and leave.
The reprehensible work is done by Gault, he has replaced George in this role.
Gault has talent but low self esteem and the owners pay him so he perpetuates this vitriol or at the very least the constant drumbeat.
Disagree with those who claim this isn't newsworthy. First time in a long long time an American wins a big marathon (and doing it in a dominant fashion) and hardly any pro except Jared Ward seems willing to congratulate.
Why wouldn't the opinions of other top Americans like Shalane and Meb -- who, one would think, know far better than most of us lowly LRC tweeps what it takes to get to the top and beat the top Africans -- be worth pursuing?
It adds value and context to the larger discussion around NOP and the investigations.
Seems like shalane knows something. Im guessing she isnt allowed to say anything against nike that isnt well known fact, so she walke right to that line but didnt cross it
Wow.
Just wow.
Your last paragraph was so Jonathan Gault/Weldon that you are actually Jonathan Gault/Weldon.
Too obvious.
Maybe misspell a word....

Sure, but breaking news? It's commenting about news, not really news in and of itself..
