Salazar had largely laid low since the report was published in May but today we had a chance to ask him about the report.

If they have something on NOP, then let’s have it. It’s been two years.
Thanks for asking the questions and making people uncomfortable.

I agree. If they haven't been caught crossing any lines, and have been tested heavily for some time now, then I don't see why we can't root for him in major races like this. Why wouldn't somebody do everything in their power, that's within the rules, to get ahead? Where's the line drawn for fandom? Should I consider my multivitamins to be PEDs? To me, it's easier to be cynical of athletes tested much more sparsely.

When you're going up against a company with about 1000x the financial might you have, your case has to be absolutely bullet proof. Do you want USADA to bankrupt itself fighting Nike? That's one of the risks here.
The other risk being that if Nike was in on it and they are the major sponsor of USATF for the next 20 years or whatever it is, then what happens to your sponsorship?
What this boils down to is: those in power want to do the right thing, but they also want to be able to keep making their house payments, putting food on the table for their kids, etc.
Until you have a whistleblower who doesn't give a F, it's going to be unlikely that NOP goes positive before they simply disband, the latter of which is already happening.

True.
I wouldn't have the guts to do it.

Well, the questions that make people uncomfortable are often the ones that need to be asked.
Oh boys.
Get over it.
How predictable was this 'breaking report'.
It just gets old.

Uh, the group is growing in size, not shrinking. For all the runners who have left, they have added more (and arguably better) runners. The mid distance group is the best in the US easily.

Nike Attorneys will drag it on for as many years as they can.
This is not journalism, it's old and stupid. This is all they got after multiple years of getting insider information and investigations? Give me a break and stop your personal and retarded vendetta. These are not the medieval times where people are guilty becomes someone thinks or assumes so. How about using something like evidence???
Until someone gets a multiyear ban or worse, this is just like a handjob without getting to finish. Yawn.

What, are you stupid or drunk?
Nothing is in court, no one has been prosecuted, what would attorneys have to do with published speculation or allegations.

I think a bigger story here is why the letsrun.com team completely underestimated Jordan, didn't give her much of chance of even running as fast as Boston and not be held accountable.
The made assumptions and speculated vs analyzing her training and doing a little homework. BTW,she ran the fastest time by an American woman ever on US soil.
Oh BTW, no one has been from NOP has tested positive for anything. No one is individually under investigation, all NOP have been tested at the highest standards in the testing world at all competitions and then some.
Speculation and allegations with zero merit.
He doesn’t need to comment to LRC because he doesn’t need to. Clearly anyone can see the mean intention of the question which essentially is an attempt to throw a bucket of iced water to the celebration. Jealousy is a really ugly trait of many Americans. Let WADA and USADA figure it out, drama queen.

My intention was not to be mean, nor was it to steal his thunder on his/Rupp’s big day.
But I can’t just call up Alberto Salazar and ask him about this stuff. I get one, maybe two chances a year to talk to the guy, and all he’s said on the USADA report publicly was his statement to the Oregonian when it broke. But I’m sure many of our readers had more questions, particularly about the L-carnitine infusions. I know I did. So I waited until the Rupp/Hasay questions were over and I asked him.

We never went to the moon because we never went.
The only reason she ran so quick today was because the letsrun predictions caused her to race on pure hate.

False dilemma. There are choices besides "Salazar is a cheat and should be punished" and "Salazar's clean and should be praised." For example, "Salazar is an dickhead,so screw his runners" would be acceptable, given his verified behavior. But the idea that he's clean is at this point held solely by idiots anyway.
