The age on the entry would indicate Matt senior. Isn't that illegal to run for someone else so should he be banned from future Chicago marathons?

Yes and yes. There is more improvement possible with better pacing and cooler temperature.

I noticed the same thing! So sad. You usually always see Kara G congratulating everyone. And sometimes Shalane. I bet Shalane is just bitter because Jordan took the number 2 spot.
Actually Jordans time is the fastest by an American on US soil, yes that's faster than any American woman ever.
Its the number one spot now on US soil and number #2 American all time.
Kara is not in this picture. Her bitterness and anger is sad statement to a aging athlete that blames everybody but herself. Race by race she will be forgotten and hopefully the dollars she thinks she is owed will filter out to younger and more deserving athletes.
Agreed. Allie O will be the US's greatest marathoner.

Yes! The moment I saw AllieO's stride I said "there is a future great marathoner." AllieO is 2020 or 2024 marathon team member. She's only 20 years old or so, but would like to see her drop BSU, drop the steeple, and go to NOP and start working with Jordan.

People after Boston "I doubt she can run faster than 2:23"
Runs 2:20:58
So she basically ran 2:21.

No, she "basically ran" 2:20:58 you patronizing idiot
What's amazing to me is how fast she went out (I think they were on 2:16/2:17 pace at the 10k split?) to still hold on to sub 2:21. I thought she was going to blow up when they announced that split. And it was 60 degrees with 90% humidity. Barring her career getting derailed by injury I'm excited to see what her potential is.

I've been a Jordan Hasay fan for 10 years now and always believed she had this type of performance in her. Despite the negativity on Letsrun and constant talk of burnout, she has proved the haters wrong and pulled through every time!!! It is a GREAT year to be a Jordan Hasay fan!
I was a Hasay fan until she chose to stay with Salazar. I have no doubt she is on the receiving end of his 'gray area magic'.
I cannot root for anyone running for NOP. It's a shame as I was excited about her pro career when she finished college.
Here is the problem. For the last 10 years running royalty has scoffed at the high school girls that got all excited about little Jordan Hasay. Shalane and Kara and Desi and all the others thought that it was a cute little story that didn't effect their world.
Now it effects their world. She is now the #1 most wanted women's marathoner. Athletes like Desi are no longer going to receive the same amount of appearance dollars or interview requests or sponsorship opportunities.
10 years ago Deena ruled this world and table scraps were being picked up by Magdalena Lewy and Blake Russell.
The over 30 crowd needs to move along and recognize that your ship has sailed. If you are not flirting with 2:20 in the marathon you are no longer marketable.
This is why there are no tweets of congratulations.

I'm the opposite. I became a JH fan when I saw she was sticking with NOP - as that shows a lot of loyalty to her coach, to her teammates (male and female, and at various distances), and to all the NOP crew.
It's pretty funny and who's going to take issue with a gold medal guy having a laugh at his dad's expense? Everyone knows he's a character and this sport needs as many as they can get.

+1. Someone here actually gets it...
Hasay is 26. But not that it matters, just for the record.
Ok I went out with the lead woman through the first 5k yesterday they were flying and Jordan looked like a bad ass!
She'll run 2:18mno problem.
They rolled away and I was running 5:20s it wasn't a fast day and she ran 2:20. She'll run 2:18 in Berlin nonproblem.
Point of contention. No one ever really cared about Desi for interviews or sponsorship.

It shows a loyalty to cheating.
Not bad for a colonial.

Rojo - stop posting under a different name.
She will get the American record.

That's insane. What is 36th fastest men's time?
Always knew she had an engine, I wonder how her HS compatriots would fare if they trained (Ashley Brasovan, Kathy Kroeger, Laurynn Chetalat, Mel Lawrence, even Sarah Baxter)
There is no indication whatsoever that any of those women could/would have handled the mileage and required health to run a marathon anywhere near sub 2:30 much less 2:21. High School performances show little correlation to marathon ability and even less to actual achievement. This applies to men as well. Lack of world class ability in shorter event is not necessary as well, Hasey just passed Joan in the marathon and also compares pretty favorably to her in the 5k/10K.

RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
