Yes. Kimetto has stopped.
Scratch that. Apparently Kimetto is still running. But he did pull off to the side with a limp.

Good interview on NBC CHicago broadcast with AR holder Deena Kastor. She said she'd be happy to lose her American record. She said she doesn't feel like she owns it. She said Samuelson's record was there to inspire her to push her limits and was a goal and thus she views her record as a goals to people like Hasay.
Deena is a class act.
Hasay is on record pace at the half. Will Kara give her props on social media if she hangs on?

KIMETTO GOES HOME DEVASTATED.
Dibaba getting pretty pi$$ed for having to do it alone...
So if I just tuned into the race, I would think the lead pack is going after the women's world record and the second pack is going for the women's American record.
Hasay on AR pace at halfway. She just hit halway within 1 minute of her PB. Her PB is 67:55 and she hit halfway in 68:50.

did telemundo stop working for anyone else? Please someone link a stream that is showing the race, not wheelchairs, not fun runners.
So frustrating for telemundo to crash. They were actually using 3 split screens to show the men, women, and wheelchairs at the same time! Why can't other broadcasters seem to realize that split screens exist?
Tadese checks the watch again! Looking easy, just behind Bett who has taken the lead of the large pack.

I know a lot of people are knocking Hasay's strategy here, but this is a rare opportunity for her to push herself and run a really fast time, possibly American record. She's an elite runner, she likes to challenge herself. She has plenty of marathons in the future to run a more strategically, so why not go for it here and she what she can do?
At the least, stop pushing to get in the front.
I always run alone and never get upset.
MAGA
Ridicolous NBC Chicago hasnt zoomed on the men's race for FIVE minutes... no way to know who/if has retired...
Who is the tall white guy in light blue towards the back of the lead men's pack?
He's not English. Try Australia.

Kimetto really is done.
Emmanuel Bett to the front and he drops the fastest mile of the race (4:56) during mile 15. Race getting going now. Lead pack is 10-15, Derrick and Rupp are the two Americans left at the front.

Am I bad that I don't care about the wheelchair race?
I also don't care if there's a sailboat race going on in the lake.
A small niche sport has a race at the same time. Why should viewers interested in the running race care about the wheelchair race?
You should just be grateful the wheelchair athletes let your small niche sport participate on their course.

This is getting really annoying not even looking at the mens race
