What most don't seem to realize is that the female NFL beat reporters have actually played just as much tackle football as their male jock-sniffing colleagues...exactly ZERO.

I think it's funny that neither the reporter or Cam Newton can pronounce routes properly.

Obviously Cam is not used to women reporters asking him questions about routes. Is that his fault? You can blame him for pointing the fact out in the fashion he did but you cannot blame him for women not asking football specific questions.
To me it is understandable. How many female reporters have ever played football and know the in and outs of the game.
Your a Moran, to.
A question about routes is not a high level football question. Anybody whose played Madden could ask that. It's her job to know football, so no one should be surprised she asked a question about football an average high school fan could ask. He's a freaking professional. For what, six years? He should be as professional at answering his question as she is at asking them.

He highlighted that it was particularly funny because she was female. It was clearly a derogatory and sexist comment.
He should apologize but it's not that big a deal.
End of story.
According to her, she gave him a chance to apologize before she tweeted about it. If true, be should have been smart enough to apologize then.

Kinda the point.
The point here.
Your head down here.
He has been a professional football player for 6 years. For 6 years he has given numerous interviews after games and throughout the week AND YET he still is not used to females asking him questions about routes.
Tell me why more women aren't asking him questions about routes?
How long has she been a NFL writer and how many questions has she asked about routes before? Has she ever asked Cam these type questions before?
Why did he find the question unusual?
Again, Cam can be blamed for saying anything but he can't be blamed that the question asked was unusual by a woman.
oh, no, another round of kneeling during the national anthem, this time by female reporters
Wow, Malik, you've proven that you're racist, sexist, an a$$hole and a moran in very succinct fashion.
Go axe your mom if you don't understand what any of those big words means.

I will definitely ask her what is a "Moran".

Well, other than the fact that NFL press conferences are on camera, and sometimes televised (or at least radio-broadcast) live. This was getting out no matter what she said about it.
Strangely, the reporter recently posted an apology for posts she had tweeted 4-5 years ago. Don't have any idea what that's about.
You find it funny. You find it hilarious. It was not a hard hitting question. It didn't have to do with the instructor and outs of football. Really it wasn't even a question about routes. The question boils down to "is it fun playing with Funchess?" It was a freaking softball question. Plenty of women reporters ask questions like that. Damn near every sideline reporter in the NFL, many of which are women, asks questions like that. It's unusual at all.
Your making it sound like she, instead of asking a simple question, was applying for a head offensive coordinator job.
Newton was right on. Football is a MAN'S sport, and only men can understand it. I played pee-wee football until I was 11 and then took up drinking beer and watching tv full-time, so I know what I'm talking about. Women could never understand the game on the same level as I do. I bet they don't even play Madden.
Think about the complexity of route running. First, the receiver runs in one direction then, sometimes, he changes direction. There's a different name for every possible direction he goes! That's some intricate stuff! And then there's the physicality of the game. A puny little girl probably wouldn't even survive if she had to block J.J. Watt. That's why football is a MAN'S game. No women allowed!!!
Ima girl and like OMG what a sexist pig. Ew gross. As if. What a loser. Was he even in a frat? He probably treat women like trash. Wait that turns me on. Give him my number.
I mean, I can definitely see how it would be funny.
The question wasn't even really about routes but about one of Cam's receivers seemingly enjoying running physical routes and if Cam took some pride in his receiver's attitude. So instead of giving his teammate some props, Cam instead chose to deride the reporter. Way to be a good teammate, Cam.
What's the big deal? At least he didn't grab her by the phussy.

I did, with my eyes...my eyes...
I'm a female and I'm not offended. I'm also not offended, nor do I think it's sexist, to be called honey or sweetheart. People need to stop being offended at every little thing.

Cam might a thought she was trying to trick him by talking, bout the TV miniseries "Roots."
