I was at Texas Relays and some kid asked a girl to prom over the PA system when he went up to recieve his medal. I think it was saturday, which is the biggest day in terms of people at the texas relays.

i'm not saying this is best way to ask a girl to prom. in fact, it's not a very good way at all, but it's a funny story.

Try out this crazy idea. You go up to this girl and say (now here comes the crazy part), "Hey, do you have a date for the prom yet? No? Well, would you like to go with me?" Then she'll say yes, and you two go to the prom. It's so crazy and out there that it might just work.

I disagree with this approach. Instead I would not bother asking if she has a date already and just plain ask her out nicely, but don't be timid. If you ask her if she already has a date it shows you aren't willing to take the risk of asking her out, are a wuss, and she will be less likely to say yes if she's available.

Furthermore-you have 2 days left??? WTF? You should have asked her weeks ago.

WOw, all these ideas are just plain terrible. Prom is in about 5 weeks...so I have time but tickets have to be bought this saturday. Can someone give me something good? I'm thinking of asking her tomorrow during track practice. I have an easy day so I can go to like Jewel and buy her a flower. Then have myself run down the straightaway and ask her with the flower in hand. Would that work?

She may say yes to that retarded flower idea, but more than likely you will embarass her, embarass yourself, and you will become the laughing stock of the team.

my advice is to just ask. if you need a "grand romantic getsture" to get her to go out with you in the first place, what do you have to fall back after she gets mad at you for cheating on her. Girls want to date guys that are self confident, so sack it up, stop asking the lets run readers to make decisions for you, and go get yourself a prom date.

By the way, if she says no, you should ask her best friend.

I think the flower idea is perfect. Make it simple, not a bouqet....girls love flowers and I think she'll def. say yes. Just make sure she's at least slightly interested in you first, do the two of you flirt? Do you have mutual friends? Maybe one of her friends can help you out.

Give her more than just a flower. Throw in five bucks to seal the deal.

Don't waste your money on flowers or anything else. If she wants to go with you she won't need flowers to say yes. In fact, ask her in a way that makes her understand that going to the prom with you is the best thing that could ever happen to her at this stage of the game, while you could take or leave the prom and would have just as much fun watching Sportscenter all night after shagging some skank from the arcade.

anyway, the flower is a cute idea, its romantic, you'll both have a story to tell....prom is a once (or a few times) in a lifetime event, why not make it more memorable. she'll be flattered that you were so thoughtful and the flower will make her feel special. i also recommend not listening to any of the advice of these loser guys on letsrun who can't get laid. have fun at your prom!
