After a comeback last year the Badgers appear to be in trouble again. 8th in Louisville today and the Freshman studs were middling. No Hacker today. Is he hurt? Will Wisco have to pull McDonald's redshirt to make NCAA's? More questions than answers at this point.
That whole culture is such a joke anymore. Primadonnas who just assume people will give them the win. Wisconsin has totally forgotten how to work HARD. They suck at XC & they suck at track. They've fallen VEEEERRRRYYYYYY far in the last 4 years.

They need to race their young ones more, not racing early and often seems silly. I imagine they were showing progress in workouts that does not equate to the performances today. They should drop out of the rankings after this week however...
Word is Olin Hacker is out for the season and Morgan is going to red shirt. Going to be a disappointing year for us badger fans.
The two freshmen will step up, this was their first race of the season. They will no longer win every race they enter like they did in high school and need to make some adjustments to perform better when championship time comes around.

I'm being critical because this freshman class of US kids is the best in years and a couple true freshman - Cooper Teare and Casey Clingler ran a minute faster this weekend....Byrne can't just shame the guys in to the media and yell at them. I don't give him a pass because McDonald is a superstar. His record of developing talent at Wisco is not what it needs to be. I'm not going to name names that haven't developed out of respect to the kids.

If that's true, then based on what happened today, they might be in for another bottom-half B1G showing. Illinois solidly beat them today and Purdue edged them out. Indiana, Michigan, and Michigan State are most likely better than Purdue, and Minnesota is probably at least comparable.

Two years ago Byrne blamed the season on injuries. Don't ongoing injury issues and lack of development of the talent tie back to coaching? Heard a second hand report this weekend of a Wisco kid who was repeatedly injured off 100 mile weeks. The kid went to Byrne and said he couldn't stay healthy running 100 mile weeks and Byrne said then I guess you can't run.

This would be a good move if Morgan wants to win an individual title. Also, probably wise from a team perspective, as most return and the freshmen will have time to develop.

Relax guys! I agree they should race their B team more often. I think the guys at this race were just getting a feel for racing as well as enjoying Pitino's ladies--* cough* I mean the city's offerings..
Based on past years, the Louisville meet doesn't seem significant. In fact I don't remember them racing there often if at all. The results at meets on their home course will be more revealing.

Morgan couldn't make the NCAA meet, hooks up with Bideau's training group, trains for 8 weeks, qualifies for Worlds. He should just go pro and join that group. Mick only cares about cross country. Was the same way at Iona but he has to run in a real conference and he can sign any American in the country.

And by that I mean cherries. Door county cherries, some of the finest you'll ever see. Some of them whipper snappers don't want to drink the rapid whey with cherry juice. That's what them footballers be drinking and look at the size of those boys. That's why these young athletes are getting injured all the time. Else they would be strapping young lads. When I was growing up my old man set discipline. Cherry house rules. Cherry juice and milk.
