Ehhhh, not good.
I really want to like these, but in my first run in them, testing them out before Chicago, I felt....slow. They felt marshmallowy, and not in a good way. Yes, there's a lot of cushion, but I felt like I was melting into the pavement. I didn't feel fast---I felt like I had to work extra hard to get my pace. I've been running in Zoomflys for six months, so I'm used to the stack height and drop, both of which I like. But whereas the Zoomflys are super stiff, which seems to equate to nice energy return/efficiency, the ride in the Vaporflys felt sloppy and slow. Anyone else have similar experience? Maybe they're garbage for heel-strikers? Or am I just crazy?
