I dress up like a donut anyway
As much as I, like all LRC posters, loathe the poor people on welfare, I really can’t stand the non-poor people sucking on the government’s teat. It’s not that these social work jobs pay too much: it’s that they are one step away from a no show paycheck, with a massive pension found NOWHERE in the private sector. The honest workers, including donut man, are damn lucky if they get a 3% matching 401k, and they pay 100% of your check and Cadillac health-care plan. You personally are why the state of CA is driving of a fiscal cliff.

Sad story, but can almost assure you that there is more to it- parts that he did not share- the drugs, alcohol, blowing money, etc. I know this story 1000 times over, as I am a social worker here in LA. One poor decision typically leads to another until the cycle is broken. Kudos to him for at least looking for a job instead of claiming "disability" or taking unemployment checks.
Donuts...... Mmm. I love donuts!
Yeah, I had coffee that bad once.

I've been trying to talk my girlfriend into doing that for years because I could combine my two favorite things.
Again, know your facts before you speak. Yet another swing and a miss by a judgemental person that has ZERO idea about what someone's life entails. Though we work closely with LA County DPS, etc, I work for a non-profit that relies exclusively on donations- i.e. zero public subsidy. ZERO. We are entirely donor based. I earned $12,800 last year working with the program, and another $14,400 working basic construction- house framing, dry wall, etc. Unfortunately, health insurance and 401k is not offered at the former, and definitely is not offered st the latter. I do it because I love it, and acknowledge that I will never ever be a wealthy person. I sure as $h1t have no affect on your "fiscal cliff."
I can understand how you can say that these people should just get better jobs. But somebody has to take these jobs that are on the bottom of the pyramid. It's just too bad that they get sh1t on.
Why should we be patriotic and saluting the flag when the poor and vulnerable basically get sh1t on by one of the two major parties? Screw the flag and the NFL's billionaires' millionaires. Make no mistake, it's class warfare going on and the rich are winning.

Except that I DO know EXACTLY what their lives entail. I spend countless hours with them on and off the clock, and have done so for the last 8 years.

This is silly. I've heard "Donut Guy's" story 5,000 times. Come work with me in LA for a few days. Get your hands dirty.
Believe it or not, those 5000 stories are from 5000 individuals with lives full of nuance. They don't all deserve their bad breaks.
Everyone feels a bit like a donut from time to time!

Basically, into an excursion into life after death, theoretically.
In effect, we opt for the human body because of the emotions some of us have, however, the caveat. When one dies one does not have to come back to the human body and incarnate on Earth. One can try one of the other forms that manifest in other parts of the universe for example being on an Earth like planet the size of Jupiter and being larger being able to run a mile in under two minutes the partake in rituals like sipping a wine like substance made from the mill-hen-ee-ya vine, and eat porridge made from orange like trees.
Come, come and experience the papers of Wes Penre. You runners, slaggers and sluggers have their seats reserved now, to experience the new you, now,
so take off your socks, snuggle up to the computer and turn on the show relax, with the dog or cat at your feet. You are in for a real purr.
