I don't know if they can hack it, but this pace is not that unreasonable for Kipchoge, because he followed pacers at sub 59 and hardly slowed down, with marked assistance that supposedly was primarily in the drinks and aero arrangement. 60:45/61:15-30 would be pretty reasonable splits for a big drop in the world record that would actually be very close to what Letsrun and others calculated was the record conditions level of the Monza performance, namely, 2:02-2:02-15. I think that Kipchoge can do it, though I don't know how fresh he is.
