Why do people keep talking about the Chicago forecast for this Sunday and posting as if the race is this weekend? Chicago is on October 8th. More than 2 weeks away.

JV cross-country races are competitive. Chicago is rapidly becoming a JV marathon.
Chicago is being positioned for replacement in the WMM by another Asian race, most likely Beijing but possibly Shanghai. Too much growth in the Asian middle class and marathon circuit and too much American representation in the current WMM lineup for it to stay the way it is.

Plus, the Chicago organizers do not seem to care about being a major.
BTW: The WMMs are an American invention. That is why US races are over-represented.

So I'd like to see a little more respect for Rupp when he's out there stomping on 2:04/2:05 guys and placing in the top 3.
Yes, as long as the 2:04 / 2:05 guys decide to run a tactical 2:08 /2:09 pace, yes he has a chance of top 3 , otherwise...fogetaboutit.
Rojo yes they read it. No they don't care and you had no impact. You guys really think you are special for some sad reason I'm sure.

an elite championship style marathoner
Elite amateur style, that is. Top elites race where a) the money is and b) records count.
Rupp's 10,000 PB is only 3 years old and is faster than every single east African currently competing in that event (except washed-up Tadese). Nobody has run faster since 2011. That's elite. What possessed him to give that up?

then supposedly paid the money back and got to to OU, where he trained separately from the team.
I forgot about that. Wonder if any ex nike employees are willing to spill the beans on that. Rupp should have never been eligible at Oregon.

I'll bump it, too.
Because all I've seen is Rupp, this great marathoner, looking for the finish line when he's running times closer to the women's WR than what Dennis ran. At some point, the dude is going to have to run FAST, or just admit what a few of us here are trying to tell you all.
Galen Rupp is not a marathoner.
Hi Beautiful Day. Do you think Rupp is a marathoner now?
