is this a joke ???
https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/sports/article/2000211463/kenyans-turn-against-kenyans-level-ground-for-all-to-deliver-for-new-home-countrieshttp://athletics.co.ke/tag/abraham-cheroben/bahrain only bought him when he pointed out he'd run 58'48 in the past & likely touted himself as a 10k contenda
yep. The course is flat and the weather yesterday was perfect (14C)
(until some heavy rain hit CpH when the masses were running).
i saw race on streaming
too many guys who were too frightened of each other, mostly because they were all nobodies to each other apart from Mwangi who was injured & Barsoton who was debuting
fast from gun with attrition whittling field down, but too tactical from 10 - 20k as the top 3 kept worrying about each other
the winner, who put in a monsta last ~ 1.1k shouda gone from few km out & wouda smashed WR !!!
he split 55'51 at 20k, meaning last 1.0975km was finished at 6.50m/s which is pace of
~ 12'49 !!
~ 25'39 !!!
~ 54'08 !!! pace
or in comparison, that last ~1.1 km in 2'49 !!! when tadesse in his 58'23 went 3'02
tadesse's last ~ 1.1k was run at exactly 58'23 pace & thus no "kick" at the end, whereas this export had an incredible one !!!
if you can run 13s faster over last 1.1km than a guy who once ran just 17s quicker after nearly an hour of running, this means the pace to 20k was far , far, far too slow for this guy
the winner couda gone 58'00 - 58'10 if it had much faster pacing from the gun
this guy coudn't carry karoke or tanui's jockstrap let alone be allowed in same room as Kamwo's !!!
it really just shows how really p!ss weak 58'23 is if those 3 took a serious shot at it on such a course with top, top quality pacers ...
Utter nonsense as usual. The splits were incredibly even.

Got to vouch for this Lumbasi guy! From humble beginnings. Lived and schooled in the neighborhood of Faith Kipyegon and Geoffrey Kirui the world marathon champion(Keringet) in Molo South/Kuresoi.

This looks like the stereotypical story of a doper.

Aaaw so butthurt.
yyy wrote:Utter nonsense as usual. The splits were incredibly even.

can't you do basic math ?!
listed splits as
5 km 13:49
10 km 27:51
15 km 41:53
20 km 55:51
at 5k on for ~ 58'18
at 10k on for ~ 58'46
therefore big slowing between 5 - 10k
at 15k on for ~ 58'54
even more slowing to 15k & looking like 59+ might end up winning time
at 20k on for ~ 58'55
slow pace maintained between 15 - 20k & i thought watching it, winner woud be lucky to crack 59
he put in astonishing burst !!!
in fact, all 3 kicked hard, but winner was one who held his kick best
last ~ 1.1k run at astonishing pace !!! at near 54-flat pace
this hugely outshines the last 1.1k of tadesse who ran his at same 58'23 pace & therefore coud muster no kick
According to arrs.net he New Delhi half marathon had 9 runners under 60 minutes in 2014.
Tadesse couldn't kick. I don't know these guys but they're obviously different. If they had been pushed harder earlier, the end result could've been still the same or worse, they wouldn't have been able to finish so strong, maybe going beyond the limit. 58:23 would've needed a 13:50 avg 5k pace. Tadesse's last ~1.1k was 13:48,8 pace for 5k. He hadn't the gear to launch a really fast last lap or km.
These guys running 13sec faster vs Tadesse in the last ~1.1k, nothing extraordinary.
5k's
13:49
14:02
14:02
13.58
13:57,75 avg per 5k. 58:40 is 13:54,2 per 5k.
Pretty even pace. They wouldn't have been able to crash the WR by going faster earlier.
Let's see where these guys are in 3-4 years time. Bet they'll fade away into oblivion.

It's always funny when "coach JS" comes into a thread to talk himself up using a different handle.

True. I thought his best was behind him after that 58:48 (in 2014?) since he has struggled to even place in top 4 and rarely broke 60 mins. And then BOOOM! He bests his best and threatens to overhaul Sammy Wanjiru's 58:33.
With the World half marathon championships due in April next year, the battlelines seem to be already drawn between Kenya and Bahrain. Is Geoffrey Kamworor even thinking of defending his title? If so, he better get back to training soonest he recovers from NYC marathon. It gonna be the toughest fight of his life. Joshua Cheptegei is rumoured to be eyeing the same title.
What does this have to do with Sammy Wanjiru when Tadesse is the one with the world record?
Incredible times. Last time it happened was in the RAK. It was G. Mutai, Kamworer and I forgot the 3rd guy (E.Mutai?). I remember that was a sick race with Kamworer winning.
Last year at Cope, about 6 guys went under 60. Must be a fast course. The Kenyan depth as always is insane.

Kamworor needs Coach JS to improve to world record times. He once asked Coach JS to coach him to a new world record at 15 km road but unfortunately got sick before the coaching started.

Yes. You find him at FB.
They're fast, but why wrote:
Who are these guys running sub-59?
I'm just gonna go on a whim and say that's Western (euphemism for "white" in this era of political correctness) for "damn, Kenyans are fantastic at the half!"
Whoops, I forgot you can't say that because... of course they have to be doping! It's a bunch of black no-name guys after all.
You da best, Calculo!

He's a troll on your site and an alleged "coach". You can bet that all of the posts praising him in this thread were written by him posting anonymously.
