What makes you think you're so mature?
What makes you think you're so mature?
Girl sees men, loses interest in boys. Yeah, that's plausible.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Any suggestions on where/how to find guys who DO have some of the positive qualities described here?
Let's just say I'm another 20-something. I'm as lost as you in finding more mature guys in this age range. I've been trying to make better guy friends for years, but it can be difficult to make new friends as an adult. I'm not perfect myself, but most of what I ask is the ability to treat people well, have some empathy, work on true self confidence, and the willingness to look at oneself and consider what they could do for self improvement.
Just the fact that you set an arbitrary limit of 5-6 years older than you tells me you're not as mature as you think you are. You sound like Anna Kendrick in the movie Up In The Air (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dw6VE8jjP-0). Grow up.

This is exactly how I feel. I am by no means perfect but these are all qualities I strive to get better at and I am always looking to improve myself, whether at work, at running, with my friends, and so on. It seems like common logic, yet it is rather difficult to find people like this.
Hello OP,
I agree with your assessment that millennial men leave a lot to be desired.
You are right that age of first birth has been going up for a few decades :

Most first time parents are in their 20s though.
I am genuinely surprised that you respect the older men in your office so much. Most older men I know are gross. Even the ones who are pretty good overall haven't gotten with the program about not commenting on their colleagues' appearances, sharing housework, etc. most gen X fathers I know seem to perform pretty traditional gender roles at home. I was surprised when I learned this. I am a 28 y/o American man.
You may be right. It may just be that the ones I work with know when to be respectful and professional in a work setting. At least the ones I know also have wives who are well-educated, etc.
I'm sure there are great millennial men out there, it sounds like some of them have commented on this thread. It just seems to be a little harder to find them for some reason.

Well then, let's go out sometime then!

Lol at everyone trying to get the office secretary.
I'm a millennial at the offic and only go after cougars bc they're not as pretentious as your standard mid twenties working girl. I call them pillow queens.
Now the cougars- fricking awesome.

Who are you? (interpret how you will)

About the last thing on this message board is people knowing who I actually am, because, let's be honest, this is letsrun. Now if you are semi-serious, please let me know what part of the country that you live in.
East coast
Grass is always greener. Just like guys who go to Asia to find "real women".
The type of young men you describe are common...in Utah, if you get my drift.

Bah. I'm in the Midwest. But you can send me an email, if you are that interested.
Good luck, though. Lot's of interesting dudes out there, to say the least.

Good to hear. Do you have any suggestions on where to find these types of guys?
In the future, in 15 years.
Wrong. It should read "You ARE an older man."People are some dumb on this board. There are no chicks. This is a bitter single guy trying to make himself feel better.
