College son doesn't know what to study yet

He said prestigious schools. If kids think Oregon and Ohio state are prestigious schools that's their fault. There's no shortage of Wall Street jobs for Ivy League students that majored in history and other non applicable majors. It's not about what you know it's about your ability to learn. Most people work for 30+ years what kid is going to have all the skills you need straight out of college? I'll hire kids with ability over skills any day of the week. The gifted kids with ability are always identified in society by going to prestigious schools. It's not hard to figure out and no obviously this doesn't apply to every student but the majority.

Here's another vote for the Marine Corps. 'twill toughen the soft little one. He can then make decisions for himself, since he will then be a man, not a little boy who needs Daddy to make decisions for him.

Or if you're rich, you buy your kid a spot at a prestigious school.

Get a science degree. If he does not - clean out a room in the basement.
