I would love it if he made the Kenyan team. That would be the greatest switcheroo in all running history.
Do Africans care about diamond rings? Are they worth as much to them? Are they offensive? Yes, I am culturally ignorant on this.

- If Robertson has diamonds in-hand then I suspect he has a chance with AK on making the team.

Come on, man. You know full well that the only way he makes the Kenyan team is if he can somehow get everyone else to not show up.

- Disagree ... highest bidder wins w/AK

Your buck goes much further in Kenya than in most western countries. Many expats choose to stay in Kenya because they know they can live a much better quality life if they're middle class in Kenya than if they're middle class in, say, the U.K. They're able to afford a house, with significant grounds (or even a small farm), a maid, cook, gardener, nanny and even a driver to chauffeur the kids and drop them off at school. They can spend weekends on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world with good weather and warm water all year round if gawking at wildlife at one of the dozens of safari parks isn't their thing. And food is always fresher, healthier and cheaper.
But if living in a cramped a apartment (as is the norm in European cities) with excellent transport systems that run on time is what you prefer, then Kenya is not for you.
Nice bit of racial stereotyping. You are obviously not aware that its perfectly possible to live in a HOUSE (and one built to good standards too) with moors, beaches and mountains to run on literally on your doorstep. You can go from civilisation to thinking you are the only person in the world in many parts of Britain, Scandinavia, Germany and France (probably other countries that I'm not aware of) while having tracks and gyms a short distance away. Most people can also feed and clean up after themselves but its perfectly possible to employ a cleaner, albeit at minimum wage and not near slavery conditions. You are highly unlikely to be shot, raped or knifed or run off the road if driving to training. I do think its sad that if you have visited these countries, you have never bothered to get off the beaten track out of the cities and into the mountains or hills.
Speaking strictly for myself, and knowing one costs a fraction of the other, I know where I'd rather be.
