A coach said I was too slow to be on his team so he didn't recruit me. Today my team raced his team and I beat all of his runners

That sucks. But at least you showed them!

Good for you! The details would be interesting to see.
That is a great feeling. My team went 3-1 against the only school I visited that didn't offer me some type of financial package for football. I made sure to shake that coach's hand after every game we played against them.
Good for you, success is the best way to get revenge.

Are you from Indiana? If so, I know exactly who yu are talking about and that coach deserved it.
Did you run on pure hate? 😂
But seriously, great job! I bet that dumb coach is kicking himself now.
I love these kind of stories! Nice work!

Revenge for what??? It is entirely the OP's fault for not being fastest enough during 11th or 12th grade when the coach was recruting. It is the coach's fault that the OP didn't train better in high school or that the coach has a limited number of scholarahips and team space?
Hope you weren't classy and just let the performance speak for itself.
Tell us how you gave the big GOBBLE GOBBLE MFers right to their whole team

Revenge is so very Christian. There is no I in team, except the one in the a hole.
Coach told us just to tempo today. We have a lot important races later in the season we want to be ready for.

I suppose you haven't started any intervals yet as well. Saving yourself for the important championship meets in November.
What if i told you, there's no proof

Congrats on racing well, XC. What you stated doesn't make the XC/T&F a bad person. What you stated doesn't mean XC/T&F coach made an incorrect decision. If XC coach is T&F coach, the pay off is doing well in T&F. There are a limited number of athletic grants. I do not know if you are male or female. That only matters because the number of athletic grants for males is so limited. It makes sense to use the athletic grants to a greater proportion on sprinters, jumpers and throwers. Athletes who compete (100 to 800) metres are usually capable of competing in two events a meet without burning out. What is your 400 metres PB?

It could be a XC only program and it wouldn't change anything. If you can take 5 people and there 8 candidates, you have to make guesses and hope things work out. Sometimes they don't. My HS school had a 4:06 miler/8:55 2 miler and a 15:00 5k runner. The 15 min guy was a XC AA a couple times and made the nationals in the 10k. The 4:06 guy suffered a couple of injuries and peaked running a 3:46 and never made it to nationals. Out of high school though you would have been crazy to not sign him over the other kid.

My HS times were faster than almost all of his recruits haha. But my college times (so far) are faster than ALL of his athletes.
What makes it better is that he was a jerk to me during the recruiting interview and told me whatever I do, to not go to the school I went to

I know POF personally and the coach was a complete d-bag to POF. He told him he was bad and that he just wants POF's teammate to run for the other college and who cares about POF. A little differently said, but anyway, the freaking coach was a nut for not wanting POF who was pretty good in HS for the division of the school that the coach was coaching for. Anyway, POF races great and placed 22nd overall in a fairly competitive meet.
How do you know who POF is? 🤔
He used to be my teammate
