I always thought golf was the highest paying sport but wow, I can't believe the appearance money involved in a 40-year-old boxer predictably beating the shit out of a non-boxer. Nick Symmonds must be scratching his head!

I would be happy to get beaten up for that kind of 💰
Yes. Because more people were interested in this event - and any event involving either Mayweather or McGregor - in one night, than the cumulative total of people interested in Mo over his entire career
Absolutely. McGregor might get up to $100 million for his half hour of pain.
I hadn't heard of this McGregor until I read about the match here a couple of days ago.
I think you're confusing him with Cormac O'Brien the tv host.
His bout was like a 10,000 race between Nick Symmonds and Mo Farah, with Mo demonstrating his perfect strategy by jogging behind Symmonds for 21 laps and then outkicking him.
Floyd made more in one night than A-Rod did in his entire career.
After paying their handlers, trainers, sparring partners and others how much do they keep?
some jobs pay better than others.
who knew?

McGregor made more money than the total made by all distance runners since the dawn of time.

I gotta learn how to get beat up like Mcconnory
Personality was what made this a multi-hundred million dollar fight. Conor McGregor is much richer than Colin, I understand.

Looks like it was 30 million

That's his minimum. They also have PPV revenue, etc. to split. I don't think they've released any of that yet.
Imagine being PAID to be a loser. Jamin should get in on that.

I understand how the economics of it works, but it's strange to think how winning the Super Bowl, Champions League, or Olympics demands less money than two non-prime boxers with 'interesting' personalities
Conor (not Colin) did great work in hypeing the fight, brought a huge Irish contingent with him to gamble and more, and didn't embarrass himself too bad in the ring. Why shouldn't he make a pile?
A huge payday for jogging half of the London marathon is better than getting filthy rich by getting the piss beat out of you.
It was ALL about the money, period. The fight was fixed, believe it or not junior.

$30 million. Definitely worth getting a little beat up. It is no surprise he lost. To give an idea of how easy a fight this was for Mayweather, consider this: the last time he won a fight by KO was 2011, and before that 2007. Mayweather is a defensive / counterpunch fighter who will outpoint you and take very few hits. For him to win by KO at 40 speaks volumes about how much of a mismatch this was. Hope most of you saved your money for GGG vs Alvarez.
