Lebron can't break 5. Book it
People are missing the most important fact. At the bottom of the article it says the author has written for many esteemed publications including... flotrack.

4:21 at best, seriously. If he's TRULY an athletic specimen I give 4:20, but I doubt it. He is A specimen in that he's huge and somewhat athletic. He could lose a lot of weight I'm sure.
Considering Ashton Easton ran a 4:14 1500 meter. Labron is an incredible athlete, but would not sniff 4:20 in a full mile. He might be able to break 5, but that's it.
Lebrun is a great athlete for his height and weight.
By the way. Go and watch a video of him trying to play softball. He looked retarded.
Sememyeah can run 4:20. He weighs about 260, so that's that.
In high school our quarterback/point guard broke his leg during the season. As part of his rehab he ran track. He ran a sub 4:30 mile out of the box, without specific training. He later focused on the 800, and ran sub 1:55 (I don't remember the time exactly). Season ended and he went back to being quarterback. He wasn't good enough to play college football or basketball and had far more potential in track.
I have no trouble believing that any number of top tier professional athletes can run a 4:20 mile.
LeBron James is a superior athlete. The majority of less than superior runners can manage a 4:20 mile. I would say he can. I would give him 4:15ish right now for an open mile!!! I think Michael Jordan ran 3:58 or so for a mile!!!

Big deal, I've had a few in my school too

Because running is great for a broken leg.

This +1
I'm definitely biased but I just don't think athletes in other sports are as fast as what I would label sub-elite. Lebron would be great from 400m down. I don't think he would break 2:00 in an 800. He would get out in 60 and then fade to 2:05-2:10. If he went out in 2:10 in a full mile, I would expect some very slow 3rd and 4th laps. 5:00 might even be tough. If he paces it well, Ashton's 4:14 15 is probably a better indicator.
Forget about Lebron... I am certain that Bolt can't run 4:20, although he would be close.
No way 4:20 though...no freakin' way.
Are you serious Bolt is a dog and a fictional Disney Character so yes he can imaginably run well under 3:00 for a finctional mile!!!

Yeah. I remember when Karl Malone ran a 3:51 and wasn't even breathing hard at the end. You runners have no clue what truly superior athletes can do!
The NBA has changed since buck Williams day and I don't doubt his ability or your opinions of him.
Put it this way- Jordan was 6'6 and 160 when he came into the damn league. Players were SKINNY back then. MJ could get under 5 but not much more which is AMAZING.
Put it this way, when lebron played the spurs and the ac went out, who is the ONLY player that cramped? Lebrun- too big.
You take the AC out of those arenas like the old days, then you'll see the players looking more like runners (worthy, Abdul jabber,)
Same in tennis- give them wooden rackets and with the higher emphasis on endurance- the athletes will look more like bjorn borg

He's lucky if he runs a 6 minute mile.
LeBron definitely could go sub-5. I heard that AI could run 4:20, but that would be a stretch for LeBron. I would put him more in the 4:50 range. The thing with professional athletes is that they are really good at being athletic.
Once played basketball with some of the Philadelphia Eagles, and every singe one of them could dunk the ball with two hands. Even the 6'1" 365lbs guys.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
