I didn't realize Allah was such a big 5k fan. Farah, Barshim and Edris all praying to him.

Barshim is a high jumper - the best in the world. Do you even track?

Maklawa dominates the 400m final - 43.95 - while Gil Roberts (USA) is the only other man to break 45 seconds in the race (44.54).

Steven Gardiner of the Bahamas was DNF
Ronald Kwemoi was DFL in 13:55. Who is making this guy run all these races in this state? Disturbing.

Ow.
He didn't want to be tested. Totally threw that race. Such a faker.
from bbc website: "Mo Farah was clinging on with his very fingernails down the 100m. The hounds of hell were right on his heels, ..."
have now lost all respect for the beeb
do you think his foot got caught somehow? it looked like he didn't lift his right leg up very high

Anyone else think it's weird how Kendricks gives all his competitors advice during competition. I used to hate it how my college coach thought I couldn't be friendly with my opponents outside of the competition but inside of it I find a bit weird. Maybe his take is I want you to jump high and I'll jump higher. If I'm playing someone in tennis and want to beat them, generally i'm not going to give them pointers however. Shows how T&F is different.
Pole vault is, like a few other events, an individual event...against other individuals. He focuses on his vaulting, and vaulting. He might give others tips, but teaching helps oneself learn and focus, too. He is like Bolt, upbeat, cheerful, relaxed. And it clearly works! Which, oddly perhaps, makes him a great competitor.
Is there a replay of the 5000 anywhere?

Whilst I'm not sure why athletes praying is that big a deal it needs reporting. ...
Barshim was first to congratulate Mo after the race, and prayed with him once Mo had picked himself up off the deck.
the testing for worlds
was obviously a once off affair .

track alot faster in zurich .

Scattered thoughts:
* Sure the women's steeplechase at the world championships was a monumental fluke. I'll take it. There's a reason the extreme percentages are 95% or 98% and not 100%
* Awesome job by Mo Farah down the stretch. Once he didn't have a teammate in the race to unintentionally sabotage the race with 600 meters remaining I was confident Farah would prevent the Ethiopians from boxing him in with a lap to run. Once he wasn't boxed in and passed, Farah was always the favorite
* The same geniuses who declared Edris had separated from Farah at 5000 based on one race are the ones who likewise think Obiri has separated from Ayana at 5000. Comical.
* Outstanding call of that 5000 down the stretch by Todd Harris. It couldn't have been much better Far superior to anything Tom Hammond or Rick Allen are capable of. Harris has his detractors and faults but based on how well he did as play by play guy during the recent swimming world championships and now here, he deserves a crack at the full time gig.
However, Harris still struggles with shorter races. He didn't do a good job in the women's 200 or the women's 100 hurdles. Obvious moves are being made and he finds them very late...almost at the wire. In longer races he's fine.

And Jebet just told us she got sick in London. So I am proven correct. You don't rock the DL finale if you weren't in shape at Worlds. Now, you might bomb post-Worlds because psychologically you are tired but you can't suddently get in shape in 2 weeks.
At Worlds, Jebet and Chepkoech would have gone 1-2 had Jebet not been sick and Chepkoech not missed the water
Woulda, coulda, shoulda...that's why they run the race.
Hussein is something like a local hero since winning Euros there in 2014. Also Kambundji and the whole 4x100m has been a fan magnet and together with the fire works at the end, they make sure the stadium stays packed. Good thing if you ask me...

Really Rojo? Rise above brother, no need to stoop down to the masses on here and speak their language. Show some class.
