So far all I've seen on here is that she could have faked data. How is that evidence that she did so?
The burden of proof is on her. That is how record attempts work.

this is amazing, no? wrote:http://www.mimirunsusa.com/track-mimi/Hey Mimi! You can now take that ridiculous statement off the bottom of your page:
"The tracker’s “speed†is only estimated, based on accelerometer reading from each location update, and not an averaged mph reading. The tracker relies on the availability of 2g and/or 3g networks to transmit the location data. All times are in GMT."
Correct? That is, if you are now actually using one of the Garmin devices that can log up to 1 data point per second. Did you really get a Garmin Inreach, or did your team spoof it to still be able to use the lousy RaceDrone tracker?
This is the real deal. Things will be much clearer from now on.
But only from now on. Before is a disaster.

Mimi Time wrote:Mimi posted her Strava about one hour after her run finished. 4x Sandy's time.
She had another pair of runs very close to the same distance she has covered in prior runs. Add 93.3 km to her total distance; 58.0 miles.
You are too focused on "how long did it take her to post the data, she must be cheating".
Those posts were in response to a Mimi fanboi who claimed that Sandy taking 15 minutes to post her Strava was enough time for her to fake her data. Mimi took four times as long to post.

I'm quite intrigued by the rookie, Sandi Vi, too. We have a race in progress!
"this is amazing, no?"
Yes, there is a real race between two women on record pace. A drama that will spread over 50 days. The tortoise and the hare, as someone noted many pages ago.

Update after week 3
Mimi Anderson did 1219.4 miles in the three weeks.
Sandra Villines did 912.8 miles in 17 days
Mimi Anderson 58.1 miles/day Estimate for New York 49 days October 25th
Sandra Villines 53.7 miles/day Estimate for New York 57 days Nov 6th
Here is an comparison

^This is fantastic.
Marcus, could you add a the overall mileage totals and overall average per day to your chart? An Excel spreadsheet should have a way of doing that.

With Sandra's route being 300 miles longer and Mimi hitting higher daily mileage, would you agree that an injury to Mimi is the biggest factor in the outcome of this 'race'? It seems too risky for Sandra to increase her daily mileage to try to catch up.
Why is Sandy's route that much longer? Doesn't seem very smart if you are trying to break the record? Even if the conditions of that route are easier, 300 miles seems a lot of extra distance to run.
Sandy is running the route the prior records were set on. There is less traffic. Temperatures are cooler. It is also the more scenic route to run from the mountains of California to the Great Plains (mid-Colorado). Sandy has run over mountain road passes of over 9000 feet (2700 m). Here highest pass was Tioga Pass in Yosemite at 9983 ft (per Garmin; actual height of 9,943 ft.—3,030 m).
Mimi is taking the higher traffic roads, that have greater traffic, are not as scenic, and do not have such high passes. It is a much more boring route.

You should get out more.
I have traveled on both routes, they are both interesting in different ways.
Guys, I really don't agree with how the trolls and URC are seemingly teaming together to force Mimi's team to switch to Garmin over the Race Drone when it was never Race Drone's fault. This seems to have turned into a witch-hunt of Race Drone for no good reason. We now lost the ability to track the RV at one of the support cars and for what? Right now, the Garmin tracker on Mimi's website shows she hit a max speed of 7.56 mph during the morning run. Do you even believe that? Is this proof that Mimi is cheating since we now have speed measurements from a Garmin?
You are all missing the point of why I became suspicious of Mimi and I don't support this witch hunt of Race Drone. You got your change to a Garmin and it changes nothing about my suspicions of Mimi and her team because it was their suspicious powering off of the tracker that was an issue and not about different graphics.
On Mimi's Garmin the value of leaving breadcrumbs (prior data points) during the run can be seen.
At the start of the use there are two walkabouts that occurred yesterday evening—calibration of the Garmin by a crew member. The actual run started at 2:59 am which is Pacific Coast time (PDT). So, UK followers should subtract 8 hours to get GMT time.
The only thing left is boots on the ground. However, LRC doesn't do that stuff, so we keyboard commando basement dwellers will continue to complain the rest of the way.
Mimi wins.
Don't be too quick to defend Race Drone. Richard the owner is a very close personal friend of hers. For all we know this dodgy tracker stuff could all have been planned.
This woman thinks she is untouchable. For many years she has been worshipped and wrapped in cotton wool with people flocking to call her a hero. She is vain and has way too much ego and I believe she has gone into this with an air of superiority thinking she could do anything she wanted and get away with it as she's just so "beautiful and marvelous".
What an ego to declare yourself beautiful. She's an old woman and very far from beautiful. I think her mindset gives a lot away - she thinks she's too good and awesome to bother playing by the rules, thinking her silly fanboys will run to defend her so that will make it all okay
Race Drone did not leave any breadcrumbs--a mapped history with data of where and when you were. It seems fine for running where cellphone coverage is good. It is adequate for a race like this only to track support vehicles.
With Garmin it is now possible, and convenient, for random boots to join her, or just to observe her.
Scam_Watcheroo, I'm surprised at you. We have no evidence that RaceDrone is worth anything. Who had even heard of them before? Their website is a mess and we know the owner has a prior relationship with Mimi.
To compare RaceDrone to a large, well established company like Garmin is not fair to either one.
From what I can tell RaceDrone is mostly an app that uses the technology in your smart phone. Obviously they offer trackers too, but for whatever reason that technology is not ready for prime time. Now, it may have been Mimi's team's fault, or it may have been Race Drone, but whatever the reason that system wasn't working. The Garmin doesn't explain the past problems, but it does give us more reliability going forward and ensures that runners can meet up with Mimi (as long as it's powered on). The breadcrumbs left also serve as a secondary data point that can be checked against other online records. These is a good and welcome change.
What was the point of being able to see the support cars anyway? I believe we were only able to see two of three as well.

In fairness, they are used by a number of UK races. They aren't large, but are established.

It is a mess, but, she's a runner and they do tracking for running events. Hardly unusual that they've come into contact with each other.
Why do I get the feeling that the trolls and URC are all tech illiterate and have no idea what they are talking about and have no idea how to grab a GPX file off a website to analyze?
So now that you have the fancy Garmin tracking you want and it shows Mimi hitting a max speed of 7.56 mph, can we conclude that Mimi is cheating?
LOL great counterargument. Pete had readings like that as well in his run.
At no point have I seen the Garmin show 14 mph for ANYONE which is what your infallible Race Drone was doing yesterday.

So now with the Garmin you have no idea where any of the vehicles are and Mimi could be riding in any one of them. Great.
