They stopped at a little under 57 miles today because (a) they wanted to finish at 6pm today, and (b) their stopping location was the safest spot around in the area.

C*ckbain was sleeping with her, everyone knows that. I'm rather inclined to think this affair is still going on, the way he blindly worships her. Feel sorry for his wife and kids

I'm very impressed with Sandy's continued determination and consistency. Her crossing might be the last attempt someone makes, considering how few people even start, and the dangers of increasing populations and traffic. We're seeing history in the making.

Yeah, I think if Sandy keeps this pace up until the end, her record (likely 53-54 days) will be VERY hard to beat. But I'm quite sure plenty of others will try. (I already know of one woman who plans to run the "southern" route in February, in hopes of breaking the record).
For anyone planning on joining Sandy today in the Southern environments of Chicago, she is not on the intended route per her Garmin. She is on the Old Plank Road Trail which runs just south of Lincoln Highway (US-30). As of 8:45 AM she was roughly 2 miles west of I-80 on the trail. It looks as if her plan is to stay off US-30 for awhile to avoid traffic.

Probably not. Pam Reed is getting ready for her attempt next year.
And there will be more after that.

Because someone insists it be done and posts using my name. Don't rely on the times as super accurate. The Garmin breadcrumbs are only placed every two minutes, and sometimes they are missing.
