I guess that's not a surprise for anyone, may she recover as quickly as possible. She's a determined lady and I'm sure she'll find a way to make lemonade out of this bitter lemon.
But now...Go Sandy!
Feel bad for her but would honestly love to see a graph that shows milage, speed before LR started focusing on her and subsequent milage/ speed decreases as the attention increased.
I think the tracker thing and the "arrest" was totally shady but I've no doubt she put in serious miles and pushed very hard.
Kinda glad its over as never thought it was gonna end well for her.
Well, I'm glad common sense has prevailed. Best wishes to Mimi for a speedy recovery.
I'll say it again:
Someone remind me...didn't RY's escapade end with a visit to a hospital? Must be the "British Way Out", i.e. Ultra-Brexit.

Yes he did. Both ended their trans-cons in the same state, Mimi a bit further to the east. RY thought he would impress the Geezers with some sub 6 minute miles. It's interesting how these stunt runners all get injured in no time when they are forced to actually run huge mileage.

Sad, but they did bring this on themselves. She has only her and her team to thank for this. And the worst thing besides the cheating, is that she made her injuries much worse.

The only thing I am sad about is the fact that there will never a scientific report outing Mimi as a cheater. For the gullible British ultra community (which is full of addicts, Muslim converts and slow walkers) she will remain marvelous. I would love to know what the professors who were involved in RY's case think about her crazy cadence data.
Hey Scam you find anything interesting about the LEJOG attempt?

There was no cheating, get over it.
Why would Mimi have had an knee injury while she was cheating. Doesn't make any sense.

Agreed, this sums up my feelings as well. I'm sad to hear she dropped out, but not surprised, as it was clear things were going poorly for at least a week before this.
I really hope she's able to recover and eventually get back to running. I don't buy into the Mimi hatred at all.
In the end, I still feel her run was most likely legitimate, but there were enough dropouts and anomalies in her data to raise serious questions. I suspect her crew was stretched too thin, or just didn't view data integrity as a top priority, or didn't feel responding to critics was necessary. If they'd kept the tracker batteries charged, provided more videos and photos, and responded to some of the reasonable questions raised on cadence and such, then this could have unfolded very differently.
