you guys arent taking into account the awareness she's going to raise for Girls on The Run.
you cant put a dollar value on that kind of thing.
but if you could it would probably be close to $90,000.

$90,000 tells me it's a scam. wrote:

The whole thing is nuts. She's not good enough for the record and doesn't have the funds for a luxury trip like this, and I can't see the public funding her.
Thousands of people are homeless in floods and she wants 90 grand for a run?
Madness.
Train for three more years specifically for this record, drop the gobby clueless marketing agent and fund it yourself Sandra. Absolutely no need to spend anything like this money

Haha yeah, the old "Raising awareness..." line, all the scammers all use it, Young, Reading, Amy Hughes, etc, etc, etc, the list goes on.

The daughter isn't on that list. I'm sure Shellie Corralejo wants a cut of the publics money for sending out rude messages to strangers that simply asked about the strava data.
You could never hope to raise money like this unless you were a big name.
I wonder how much it cost Pete when he got the record and who funded THAT?
Though he is a way better runner who is more likely to attract sponsors
I just don't see how a group of 10/11 (including Shellie) people comprising Sandra's team could spend $90,000 on this run unless some of them get a salary from it. I think it could be done with $20,000-$30,000 with 3 people supporting Sandra with her on the road. Her support team could easily finance the trip themselves with each person contributing $2,000-$3,000. Simple.
Agree this run could be done well below $30000 in a good fashion.
Probably Trasie Phan thought see could make ultrarunning more professional by making $45000 on this gig.
"She believes that ultrarunning is in it's infancy stages. Athletes whose stories can be told to help brands be more profitable, thus elevating the sport levels compared to tennis and golf. Running is the #1 participatory sport yet athletes know very little about it's history and place in human evolution. It needs to be known as a valuable activity that enriches people's lives, not something people hate to do. Trasie's mission is to work through collaboration and staged ultra distance events to make running an exciting sport for spectators and participants. "
Trasie Phan: It needs to be known as a valuable activity that enriches people's lives,
Follow the money.

This post is harsh but i'ts also the best advice she's going to get.
It's time for a rethink Sandra
Whats the rush anyway?

The reason why running is popular is because you can do it so easily. Throw on a pair of pumps and open the front door.
Phan and her goons are making it incredibly complicated and EXPENSIVE, and unnecessarily so.
It's not about glossy hugely expensive luxury vacations funded by donations.
Their priorities are all wrong. Anyhow, Sandra just doesn't have the experience to break the record. Not saying she couldn't in the future.
She just seems swamped in the middle of all this media crap and we never hear from HER. Who is going to invest in a silent runner who is only heard through a fancy promotions company? Who would care WHERE she runs?
The Sham Wow guy got old and is doing running videos now.
There is also a good interview with Sandra Vi in there.
Let's look at the cold hard numbers.
This video has 64 viewers as of 8/31 and The Motivational runner has 49 subscribers on youtube. That's probably not enough to get the masses motivated to chip in a couple of $$ for Sandra.
Well he has done several motivational speeches since his run. Not sure what they fetched, but it has translated into some ROI.
Just tried to watch this interview from Adam with Sandra.
The first question would be: Couldn't they find anybody better than THAT GUY? Not only is he annoying but also nobody seems to watch his stuff if you look at his subscribers?
Sandra also seemed to be really uncomfortable with that nut.
Get dressed, show up and get it done!
Is that only me, that I think that is cheesy that Tracie Phan asked questions on Adam Duran's The Motivational runner interview?
After watching this interview, I am also coming to the conclusion that Trasie Phan and Sandra Villines have no idea what they are doing.
Just stuffing 6000+ calories into a runner is not a good idea in a multistage race. And hiring this interviewer seems to be the last nail into the coffin.
This run is not going to happen. I tried to stay optimistic but it's not only the funding which is lacking but also the whole concept of multi day running is vastly misunderstood.
With less than three years of ultrarunning, Sandra had great success but she has not remotely the experience to run that far. And let's not talk about records here, just to do a 3000 mile run.
Trasie Phan thinks that Pete Kostelnick's success was her work. But if you put in any person Pete wouldn't have run much differently.
They are all really nice people but they are not up for this task. Sorry.
"All the details managed by my support crew consisting of Trasie Phan (team manager), Dave Krupski (coach), Dave McGillivray (advisor), Kyan Bishop (assistant manager), Jay Lee (documentation & communication), Becky Gibbs-Templeton (massage therapist/health coach), Dave Wiskowski (photographer), Harald Zundel (The German), and Susie Schmelzer (The Closer)"
So, like... a lot of people have already pointed out the silliness of taking this whole big crew, but... why do they specifically need a "The German" and a "The Closer"? What do those titles mean in the context of a transcontinental run? Presumably "The Closer" will replace Sandra near the end and run the last ninth of the distance in her place. "The German" will... provide bailout money to any struggling Greek restaurants they encounter along the way? Take over the houses of any Polish expatriates they encounter?
Basically these are just friends who are helping out a bit. "Marketing" made a big "team" out of it so it looks more professionally.
But at the end running history and the runners personality makes the difference for potential sponsors and they just didn't see that.

You obviously don't understand sports marketing. Posting comments on a video with dozens of views is how Tracy Fan justifies her cut of the $90,000. None of us would have even heard of Pete Kostelnick without Tracy Fan's brilliant under the radar marketing efforts. As a competitive eater who hopes to one day turn pro, I'm thinking of signing up with her myself.

I thought she is only working with runners but then I saw this interview and noticed that Tracy forced 6000 calories into Sandra.
So there is hope for you as a competitive eater:
