Either one is a disgrace. If it's per year, that's RIDICULOUS (too high).
It it's total, that's too low although to be honest would be very high for a Kenyan with a 13:18 pb that dates to 2014.

The deal extends to 2024 to ensure at least one Olympic cycle if he does not get his citizenship by 2020. $3M is total deal (not including performance bonuses) and is for the 7-year period. A little over $400k/year for the most decorated collegian ever is quite a bargain.
There is no way Skechers, or anyone, would pay this much money for a Kenyan. Without competing bids to drastically drive up his value, Cheserek probably took the equivalent of a roads + bonuses deal.
It's always amazing how little comprehension exists for the realities of contracts and the business side of things in the running industry.
