We have to help them. But how?

They're smart enough to not stare at the sun.
There's no eclipse in Texas. ☹ï¸
I don't have the glasses but can I just double up on my regular sunglasses?
No it won't filter out enough. Go to the store.
Only one species of animal is dumb enough to stare at the sun. That would be the most evolved one too.
I think the only valid move is to eclipse the eclipse. If we can manage to knock one of the alternate but visually identical moons (proven to exist by the flat earth model) in between the eclipsing moon and the sun the animals will be too busy observing the double lunar eclipse to notice the background solar one.

According to the Today Show, this is the correct answer.
Yes they are all stuffed. International leftist/activist/protestors/Marxists will blame Global Warming, or Climate Change or Donald Trump or the Alt-Right.

Actually, no, it is not. They lack the 'intelligence' to understand the concept of a solar eclipse, let alone appreciate the wonder and beauty of it. They therefore have no reason to stare at the sun.

I don't think it takes much intelligence to appreciate a solar eclipse. It looks cool, that's about it.

All animals are equally evolved.
Just thought you should know.

The "wonder" of it? One smaller sphere obscures a larger sphere because it is much closer . . . oh the "wonder"???

I mean, you can see stars during the day. That is fairly cool.
Interesting posit.
No, I would argue that all animals are not equally evolved on an absolute scale.

Well actually they are not for a number of reasons but thanks for playing.
If you could shit on the ground without reproach and lick your balls - why would you even bother to look at the sky ?
There are these things called clouds that block out the sun every day. It is amazing, you should see it some time. An eclipse is no different than a cloud to an animal.
If you can manage find the book (posthumously) published
after Immanuel Velikovsky's death, "Mankind In Amnesia" (1979),
it talks about how say like during volcanic eruptions and forest
fires all animals even if they are hunted by a superior 'critter'
will all run together to avoid catastrophes.
Dogs that run away from loud 'fireworks'? Our primal friends
have a native brain much like our fight or flight response,
due to the ingrained past cataclysms. Don't be surprised
(actually take a picture of it) if you are in the path of totality
of the eclipse, of your dog or cat curling up and going to sleep.

When we were kids, we would see who could stare at the sun the longest. We turned out okay.
