....he would have won the 200m and maybe the 100m, a medal for sure. Bad time to be nicked up.

Canadians BTFO!
0 chance of winning the 100
it was freezing for the 100, probably cost a tenth & run into a 0.8 wind
90F & 0 wind, Gatlin's time comes out as at worst ~ 9.78 basic !!!
in his wildest dreams degrasse woud never run 9.78 basic
4th at best
Either way, he may have helped Canada match Syria on the medals table.

What was Gatlins PR prior to the 2004 Olympics, how about Bailey in 96? Sprinting is full of guys running times on a whole other level, we see it all the time. So to try and peddle what DeGrasse couldn't do when you really don't know, not buying it.
What was DeGrasse's 200m PR before 19.80?

Calculo do you mind sharing your actual method and precise calculations when you throw these numbers out?

Not so sure about this, if he was in the same shape as last year, he might have medaled or even won the 100m. Also given what we saw in the 200m, that was his for the losing.

Degrasse is one of the most overrated runners out there. Not sure he would have even made the final here.
Hyped up by media like their darling Warner, who ended up being a non-factor as well..

I agree De Grasse likely wouldn't have medalled. But keep Warner out of this.
Warner was sick and quarantined until the day before the decathlon. He has medaled at the last three global competitions: 2013 WC, 2015 WC, 2016 Oly.
De Grasse is not on that planet in terms of consistency.

Are you kidding or what ?
De Grasse has medalled in EVERY race in every global championship he has been since the beginning of his career :
2015 WC : Bronze :100m
2015 Pan Ams : Gold : 100m & 200m
2016 Olympics : Bronze : 100m , Silver : 200m
This guy has never been kept out of the medals and he is only 22.
In fact I can't think of a sprinter with a better track record than
or next big flop? They were saying he is the next superstar. They'll definitely need to up his dosage for that to happen. He barely managed to crack the top 10 this year in the 200 and you think he could have won? Makwaala and Niekerk were the top dogs this year but they got destroyed in the final.

So ? Is the 200m winner in London ranked in the top 10 this year ? No, he's not.
De Grasse is canadian, he comes from a country with very little depth, so he doesn't have to "peak" for any kind of trials, hence the rather "slow" times before the big races
. Makwala is heavily overrated (I don't think he has ever medalled at any champs).
told to stay away , or fail zee test.
Thread should be titled "What a shame Noah Lyles was injured........"
DeGrasse is very overrated. He only broke 10 once this season and that was with a huge tailwind! He wouldn’t have medaled at all. All hype and minimal results because he snuck under 10 and medaled at Rio. He’s not the next Bolt and isn’t even the Bolt of 2017.

Just to be clear... Pan Ams are NOT a Global Champ.

Not so sure about that. He hadn't broke 10 or 20 at all this year had he?
If you pull out within weeks of a major championship,
It is most certainly because you failed your own imposed pre champs drug test.
Nothing more, nothing less.
If you think differently you are naive.
Sprinting is changing;
But the detectable drugs aren't changing fast enough.
