Agree. Unfortunately, Democrats have ruined everything.

What do you say, high school cross country coaches? Is it better to ride a bike to more quickly go between different groups, take a vehicle, or run with the team?
My coach in high school would only run with us during cool downs after ball busting interval workouts. He would push the pace, but we would eventually drop him.
I run at the same time as the team; I just run in the opposite direction around our loops. That way, I can check on their progress multiple times, be nearby if something bad happens, give feedback / encouragement, and of course, get in my run without cramping their style. Win win.

+1
Agree - "No" Coaches should not run with the athletes. You are there to coach them.

You can coach them during a run. I occasionally run with my athletes if every group is doing an easy run. They seem to enjoy it and it’s a good chance to see how they’re doing with things and check in with different individuals
Used to go on the roadwork and hills w the team members but not track work. Moved around a lot chatting and getting to know them. Just like teaching in general, you have to keep your role as the authority (not authoritarian) in the relationship, light but separate. No buddy buddy stuff or too personal info.
Once per week on the road once in the hills ( my fave) for monitoring and adjusting.) Balancing the fun/serious aspects and gaining closer insights into each runners style and personality. Low key, no showboating, no competition, and NO head games.

I like how it took you two years to agree
