Btw, after this race, I predict Frerichs will get the AR in a couple of years.

Wow - we already knew that Emma was solid - but Frerichs is also FOR REAL! Courtney was the one pushing it and Emma just got right in her wake during that last lap. Frerichs just PR'd by something like 16 seconds. Unreal. Congrats to both ladies! Too bad Quigley wasn't there to make it a 1-2-3 sweep!
After Frerichs took off on the backstretch, Coburn got too close, brushed Frericks' left leg with her right and caused her to stumble. Fortunately she recovered well right away. Yes, too bad Quigley wasn't in there as well.

Don't you call me a puss, you s.o.b.. USA! Quigley controversy is still absolutely ridiculous and you know it!!

Arguably the greatest race in modern day (1960-present) US distance running. Well done, ladies.
AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME
If you ladies ever check this board, We are totally STOKED for you! Congrats!
Sorry for the double post, but I am in tears. Too great!!
Wow, that's all I can say.
I though making the final would be an accomplishment for Fredicks and I gave Coburn less that 50% at getting bronze. Coolean was the athlete I was expecting to have a break out because I heard her training had been going incredibly well.

ABSURD comment. Beyond STUPID!
How is it absurd? Have we seen an upset on that scale since Billy Mills? I was dead from 1964 to 1973 so I don't know.

That's how you run a steeple! Let the others do the work and bury them at the finish. Such a smart race by both Coburn and Frierichs.
Awesome!

First of all...it is the 3000m steeplechase. It is a very WEAK event. It appears that a steeplechase is often run slightly faster than a 2 mile. For these women to be running a bit slower than 9 tells you how weak it is. Plus is an upset the definition of a great race? It appears that is implicit in your comment. From a quality perspective it was rather pedestrian. So many humans react hyperbolically in the moment.

Congrats ladies! Awesome runs by both and a meet record...unreal.
I'm embarrassed by how happy everyone is for someone who isn't family. Not cool guys.
