Wow - we already knew that Emma was solid - but Frerichs is also FOR REAL! Courtney was the one pushing it and Emma just got right in her wake during that last lap. Frerichs just PR'd by something like 16 seconds. Unreal. Congrats to both ladies! Too bad Quigley wasn't there to make it a 1-2-3 sweep!

ABSURD comment. Beyond STUPID!
I see all the trash is coming out of the woodwork..
You have to wonder if Frerichs being there so late in the race motivated Coburn even more. She knows she should be creaming Frerichs, so to see her come by with 250 to go or whatever must have really given Emma confidence and lit her up.
With Jebet, Kiyeng, and now Chespool on the scene I thought Coburn's days of even medalling might be over
Could not agree more. Someone needs to FULR's Mom and tell him it's time to come up from the basement for a diaper change and dinner.
US has two finalists in the women's 3000 SC and the women's 200 m.
Take 1st and 2nd in one
Take 5th and 6th in the other
Definitely a weird championship to be winning the steeplechase and not medaling at 200!
Official: frerich is not gonna pee clean tonight!
End of the race from a DVR just posted on twitter:

Stupid comment. IF she was too tired to respond she would not have.

The US hurdle form was far superior to the Africans, especially over the water barrier.
+1

Calm down there Nellie.
For USA it's up there with Tokyo '64 5K and 10K and Munich 800 and marathon. In other words when was the last time at a world event that USA distance runners went 1-2, and set a championship/American record?
The Americans were so efficient over the barriers and water jump. I saw a few Kenyans stutter stepping the barriers and then landing awkwardly in the water jump. I guess that's how flat speed isn't enough in a race where technique matters. Very exciting and so happy for Coburn and Frerichs!

Yeah, when she was in contention on the penultimate lap I was thinking she better go for that bronze now before it's too late, sub-9 will be commonplace in '19 and '20. And she promptly proceeded to wallop 'em. Ridiculous. And then Frerichs powering by her looking for the lead down the homestretch?! Plenty of confidence in that race. A shame Chepkoech had that massive brain fart early on.

lol. are you a child?
Read what I wrote again. I said it gave her a spark, not that she wouldn't have had a killer finish without it.
You saw hard work and dedication pay off big time, that's what you saw;)

What did we just see?!!
Frerichs gave Coburn the inside lane at the last water jump! She could've won gold! But who cares, USA! USA!!
We just saw wonderful. Coburn, Frerichs, Jager = top class. Most thrilling race of the year.
I hope she sues your a$$!!!!!!!! Why make such comments based on your limited intellect? Please stop and enjoy the moment:)
