China with no sub10.00 sprinters the USA with 4. Bolt isn't the same, Blake isn't all that, then we have a hurdler and Forte.

Rodgers and McLeod run about even
Gatlin opens up a solid two m on Forte
Blake can't make any dent in Young
Coleman has a strong two m lead on Bolt
Bolt can only make up a meter
USA WINS!
China wins the bronze.
DNF - baton dropped
Womens team members? Felix running?

+1
I think the USA is slightly better than Jamaica, but I picked JAM in the prediction contest just because we've failed to get the stick around too many times in the last couple decades.

The only sensible prediction for a US relay team.
Bolt smokes Coleman on a relay I think. Look at their reaction times and finishing times in the 100. Eliminate the reaction on the relay and Bolt is already off running, he will make up any lead needed. Assuming of course, it's not some ridiculous lead

only for the purpose of trying to boost her medal total, but then she will flub a hand off and the women will also be a DNF

This. It will be Gold or DQ/DNF
In Rio, Japan also had zero sub-10 sprinters, yet ran 37.xx and won silver - ahead of the DQed USA team.
But I do have faith in the US to pull through.

Agreed
Don't they continue to beat themselves?
