My thought is that the race is today.
My thought is that the race is today.
It's not a guaranteed victory.
The world lead belongs to Jager with the 8:01 in Monaco, with Kipruto's 8:04 behind before he got injured.
That said I'm rooting for Jager as well, but the "French stud" has also 8:00 and 2 Olympic silvers (I'm not counting that crybaby bronze because he was a clear 4th) and he knows how to perform on the big stage.
El Bakkali is very strong, if not a little suspect (crazy pb last year and no one heard of him before) being from Northern Africa.
Kebenei is also very good.
Kemboi always looks like s**t during the season but he has 4 world titles, 2 Olympic titles and a 7:55.
We'll see a good race believe me.
Kemboi all the way. After last year, he'll be running on pure hate.
Jager should throw down a 59 and 57 in the first two laps. Let the field know he means business.
Jager needs to give a strong drawn out kick, similar to Monaco. No running to the front from the gun, and no waiting until 300m to go. somewhere between 600m-1000m he need to let his fitness win him that race

If that's the case, I'll never watch T&F again - it's rigged! 😕

Agree, a little extra pace injected at 2k, then gradually ratchet up last 500m. I don't agree with the posters saying sub 8, I'd expect about 8:05 with a 58 last lap if it's an inside water barrier. I think he'll be 10m clear out of the last water jump and win by 15m/ 2 seconds.

Will Jager take a historic gold? Will we see another Mekhissi fit? Will Kemboi do his dance?
Discus.
You guys are obsessed with the discus. Where was the thread on that?

Are you one of those idiots who call him Yager?
Here I am predicting a Jagёr victory, and all you can do is insult me for honoring his German heritage even though he does not.
I bet he would willingly spell and pronounce his name Jäger if he would win the gold medal or better yet run a sub 8.
Funny when that comes from someone who cannot spell "Wiggins".

And if he wins, no doubt there will be lots of accusation of drug use, right? Or will there? And if not, why not? His emergence and progression has been perfectly logical and clearly explainable, right? As logical as Bolt's Farah's or Dibaba's right?
Who is Bolt's Farah?
Never doubt the man bun. He's got this.
Does the cool weather play into Jagers favor? He's used to running in the tundra growing up in Illinois.
Jager 3rd. Kipruto 1st, Elbakkali 2.
You violated one of the first rules of betting. In women's tennis always bet against the heterosexual and in mens distance running, always bet against the white guy.

Except today, he was actually the best guy in the race. Had he been smarter, like Pierre Ambrose Bosse, he could have been the white winner today. Should have stayed at Wisconsin and learned to race instead of running about 5 races a year.
We need to accept that Conseslus is the stronger specialist of the world at the moment. He won a competition not fast, in spite of very little training he had in the last 40 days.
I remember I spoke with him, together his manager Michel Boeting, in Monaco, since he wanted to run, in spite of his problem in one ankle. This was the same problem putting him in Rabat (5 days before Monaco) out of the top runners in the race, when he had to drop out because of the injury.
What I explained Conseslus was : "Why do you want to run ? If you are able to run well, people say you were a liar finding excuses after Rabat. If you have a real problem (and we know this is a fact), you can only risk a worse injury and go to lose the possibility to run WCh".
He understood the reasons, and decided to see the races, instead of running.
After that day, Conseslus had only very little training, with one session only using spikes, without jumping.
His victory, in these conditions (absolutely no more than 80% of shape), clearly shows that, at the moment, there are not in his event athletes who can create him real problems (maybe El Bakkari from next year).
What about Jager ? Supposing his shape was the same of Monaco, he paid the pressure, running under his current possibilities.
The impression is that he needs to be free of responsibilities when is in a top Championship (World or Olympics), And, if you want to be competitive for Gold, you need to have a different mental approach.

I'm going against popular opinion on this one.
Jager will NOT medal.
You heard it here first.
So close. The 4th place runner was coming up on him!
The final is not tomorrow. It was TODAY! Try to keep up, noob.
Wigins with a Flagpolesque prediction! Well done, moran.
