All three Americans lapped. Embarrassing and shambolic.
If that is your criteria - its true of every other country except Ethiopia and Kenya.

Poor event scheduling by IAAF? It's an hour gap now until the next "real" event, the men's 100m. Heptathlon 200m doesn't really count from a prime time TV excitement perspective.

Has nothing to do with genetics.
it's their way of life that makes them great. Their environment makes them great. Their training makes them great.
It was the same thing when Tirunesh first stepped on the scene, or when Bekele stepped on the scene.
Dibaba is now a marathoner, so she never made a move to go with Ayana....
I think it has more to do with those over the counter bottles of EPO than genetics. Like come on people, that race was a farce
Sure Ayana is doping, but I care more about what I can see than what I can't.
Drugs or not. Training is training, and her shape, form, and mentality makes for a great distance runner.
She is the Usain Bolt of her event. A freak of nature......
A runner just does not simply pop a shot in their arse and become the greatest in the world.
A dominant run under what must have been hard conditions. Nearly a full minute slower than in Rio (and Huddle was about 1:20 slower than in Rio). I think Infeld has Huddle's number now, and Sisson is our rising star.

Susan Krumins, NED, 5 31:20
Infeld, 6, 31:20
Cheptai, 7, 31:21
Huddle, 8, 31:24
Sisson, 9, 31:26
The chase pack didn't die bad enough for anyone else to sneak in for a medal.
Infeld was easing up and missed Susan closing on her outside. All that was missing was the raised hands.

Um, not at all. Infeld beat Huddle because Huddle eased up and started celebrating. Krumins beat Infeld because she outkicked her at the line, there was no premature celebrating.
So Ayana could have jumped off the track pretty much at any point in this race, gone to the bathroom, pissed, washed her hands, gotten back on the track and still win the gold. Amazing!!

They're going to show the semis now and get caught up on other events.

14:25 last 5k for Ayana after a 15:51 first 5k. Ridiculous. She should go after the 5k world record after Worlds.
Funny how the announcers say that the crowd is booing Gatlin because they are "pro Bolt" and they don't mention his testing positive for PEDs. Got to believe that is what the crowd is booing him for.
What kind of name is Abdul Hakim Sani Brown? Sounds English, Arab, and Japanese all at once
Maybe they know both have been using shit tons of PEDs for years.
Though I am very happy with Almaz's performance, I must say that reading the latest Guardian article on EPO in Ethiopia and how incredible Almaz's run was compared to the others, I just can't trust this 100%. Sad, because she might just be that much better than the rest, and I really want to believe that, but now I can't even support my countrymen and countrywomen with a clean conscious. Hope the Ethiopian Athletic federation will clean up the scene soon.

I didn't know this was on today, and missed it.
Referring to women's 10k of course.
Good for you. You're a rational being.

It's a hell of a lot cooler than most of our names.
