I guess this is the best field one can assemble this late in the season for non-Worlds competitors. The Portland meets, Nashville, Furman Elite 1500, etc seem so much more competitive and not nearly the hype/sponsorship support.

What's your point? Don't we want people to get excited about track and field? The Sir Walter crew is great at bringing everyday runners, local elites, and professional athletes together and creating a fun experience. A local brewery makes a special beer for the event, and there is a pre/post race party at Raleigh Brewing across the street from the track. This is exactly the kind of enthusiasm and care we need to drum up excitement for our sport. Also, Mikey Brannigan ran a sub-4 mile there last year. It's a quality event. Get a grip, and stop complaining.
