Why?
Because yet again the LRC messageboard has been proven to be correct.
https://twitter.com/JamaicaGleaner/status/892881452190367744Let the conspiracy theories being. A guy just called me to tell me about that tweet and said, "Man, how much did Puma pay him to take a fall for Bolt?"
It's certainly possible but I would think Puma would want DeGrasse to beat Bolt since he's also Puma and would then be established as the man who beat bolt.
Jonathan Gault has just texted Paul Doyle and he confirmed it to us as well.
Wow OP (Salvatore), we all bow down to you. I will never doubt anything you say. How did you know?
Welp OP proves mostly correct. Pulling out of both events is at least believable if he's really injured but something doesn't sit right with me about this entire situation.
LRC strikes again!
Usain Bolt is a god and the gods of Olympia ( where Bolt is really from) must protect one of their own! De Grasse had two choices; get out of Bolt's way or face the wrath. And since he chose the former, the gods will adopt him from next season.
DeGrasse isn't even a real threat to Bolt. Dude barely subs 9.95
Yeah, Bolt is scared of this dude. #FakeNews
We received two statements from Paul Doyle - De Grasse's agent.
And then a longer more official statement:
Was Alan Webb ever a threat to Hicham El Guerrouj?
Unless this has been broken on this board already y'all heard it here first.A "training" injury will mean that ADG does not race the 100m in London, however will be fit and raring to go in the 200mAnd this ladies and gentlemen, is why Track and Field is f$#king farce. You're welcomeSalvatore. Editor's update. The OP's prediction proved to be partially true. Today (8/2) Degrasse has pulled out of the 100 but also the 200. https://twitter.com/JamaicaGleaner/status/892881452190367744We received two statements from Paul Doyle - De Grasse's agent.

Based on his IP, it looks like he works for a competing shoe company.
This is helpful and believable. Deleting the thread, even if it were fake, was always extreme. But I don't understand why the OP didn't offer any source or further explanation (such as has now been provided by LetsRun). Could've been a boon to LR in the breaking news department.

Did you just publicly reveal that this guy lives in Beaverton, Oregon? Is that kosher?
It's been confirmed... no showdown with Bolt :(
When happened "the injury"? He was doing media interviews until July 30th. And the injury was nonexistent.
Probably Puma is going to pay him the contract bonuses, even with him "done for the season".
Bolt is on Floyd's way.
Remember, Maywheather cherry-picked rivals, paid Maidana 1.5 millions for not using certain gloves, chose the rules against McGregor, ducked a prime Pacman, etc.
I felt the same way after the Chinese runner pulled out of Beijing. If it's the biggest race of your year, and it's over in 10 or 13 or 20 seconds, what do you possibly have to lose? It's not like a 5K that Abby D'Agostino did?
