This is mindblowing. How do you train yourself to go that deep on a single breath of air..

Man brutally disregards spell check and his wonderment is subverted.
I am unimpressed by free diving as a sport and consider it an exercise in stupidity. Why put yourself in mortal danger like that? Humans can test their breath-holding just beneath the surface where life sustaining oxygen is nearby and plentiful.
What kind of car did he use?
World record for unassisted free dive like that is something like 335ft which makes this dive look pretty weak really.
I have so many questions.
Like why does such a pool even exist? How did they build it? How painful is all that water pressure? And why does markschultz always post things like this? I thought this was a running website.

I assumed it was a Ferrari.

This dive was a fun stunt. Nery has been much deeper, he is a big name in the sport of freediving.
He's made some really cool videos on YouTube worth checking out if you're unfamiliar with him.
I also find freediving a bit odd as a competitive sport, but I find it very enjoyable to do as a non competitive past time. I usually do it with either a spear or camera in hand. I haven't been as deep as nery, but have been deep enough to appreciate how insanely hard (and dangerous) the ultra deep dives really are.
Feeling your lungs compress to a point beyond what you can achieve by simply exhaling as much as you can is an uncomfortable feeling to me. I've only done dives that deep a handful of times and have no interest in going more than 30 or so feet past that point.
When has free diving ever made sense? Even with no technology you could still bring a hollowed-out coconut to get an extra breath from.
fix it again, tony wrote:

I thought probably a Fiat

In order:
It was built by a resort to allow indoor scuba diving activities; not sure but they probably just dug it out and built the facility around the hole; I would imagine very painful, but skilled free divers get accustomed to the pressure; No idea, but his MO seems to be to browse sites like "Daily Mail" and post stories that he considers noteworthy. I can't recall any involving running, though.
It said it was on the outskirts of Venice, which suggests to me that they built the pool in the water that was already there.
They just filled up the tower of Pisa. It's not being used for anything else.
I guess he didn't need to be Saved from drowning.
Confused. Does he have weights on.

Do you really not know the difference between illusion and reality? Scratch that. Your political comments already show that you don't.
I once drove more than that with no hands. NBD.

Indeed it was a Fiat. Here is proof of him practicing drives.

Except David Blaine really did do that and broke the world record for the pure oxygen longest breath hold. The only part that was showmanship was the goofy fishbowl he was in.
His record has since been broken again and again by a series of champion freedivers.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Static_apneaDon't get me wrong, exthrower is an idiot, but he is right and you are wrong in this case. This is why Trump is president, the tendency to dismiss everything said by sensationalist Jenks. You have to meet them on equal footing and point out when they are actually lying or distorting facts. Dismissing everything they say out of hand plays into their game.
http://content.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1736834,00.htmlIf I am then I am, but I know that Penn Gillette disagrees with Blaine's approach of not admitting what he does is an illusion. I suppose it's possible that this one time he actually did what he appeared to do, and even gave a Ted talk explaining how he did it, but I remain skeptical.
