It is a little tricky for a HS runner to get there without a car, but as someone pointed out, there is a bus stop near Thurman and you could take the MAX to the zoo, which is the beginning of Wildwood (and the end of Marquam trail). Also, it's possible to bus it to at least one of the other trailheads near the St. John's Bridge.
Meeting up with others (hi TxRunnergirl) would also work.

Better yet, get her husband to pick you up and tell your parents that some old guy you met on the internet is going to give you a ride. Maybe have him swig a drink of something while he pulls up. There's a chance that situation will scare them into helping you out a bit :)
Clever teenager says "discus." A bright future awaits.
Maybe they don't want the family car tied up regularly for that length of time. Maybe they have things to do that are important to them.

Then they can give her a ride. She's going to run for probably an hour. There are worse things a teen could do. But we're entitled millennials, so what do we know?
I really don't think that an isolated woodland area is more dangerous than busy roads. With busy roads, you have a chance of getting hit at every intersection, not to mention driveways. There are thousands of pedestrians killed every year (5376 killed in 2015). With an isolated woodland area, there are rare, very rare attacks.
Run the roads and get hit by a car and then say "See! I told you I should drive to the trails" (make sure you survive the accident)

That's really sad dude. Here in NYC we can just walk to Central Park, which has fantastic trails for training.
I recommend murdering your parents. Without them around you could use the car whenever you want. If you want to have a successful cross season, this seems to me to be the best option.

I sometimes run with my 8 year old daughter. We run about 2 miles. The other day we drove a mile and a half to a trail. My wife thoought this was dumb since we could just run there.
I just said "dont you have some laundry to do?" And left. Maybe you could try that?
Maybe I'll try that line with the Missus and see how it goes.

Even if you live in a Brooklyn?
Or the Lower East Side?

You are not a millennial if you are currently a teen but rather Gen-Z. Besides, all of the millenials have already graduated college and are spending their minuscule disposable income (thanks to their art majors) on avocado toast!
