Exactly. The cyclist made contact with the side of the car, then hood / sidewall, whatever. The car was there first. Otherwise, the car would have run "into" the cyclist but that is not what happened. The cyclist ran into the car.
The cyclist held his line leading up the crash. If you want to argue he drifted by six inches, or a foot or w/e I would disagree with you but hell, let's say I give you that point for the sake of the discussion. The cyclist drifted a little further left towards the car (will note again, I don't personally believe this happened).
The situation would then remain that the cyclist moved 6 inches left and collided with a car that was attempting to overtake. We already know the cyclist is an a solid combination of idiot, arrogant, and douchebag; but because people like to bring this up, yes the cyclist was being a dipshit.
That said, even if the cyclist drifted over a full foot at the last few seconds, that still means that the car gave well under 3 feet of room on it's pass. That, put simply, is highly unsafe, highly incompetent driving that is inexcusable under any circumstance.
