Didn't even bother to read any of this. Was only in search of her pics from the rear.

If this is truly the workout she did and she's only managing to run 1:57-1:58, she's severely overworking herself in practice.
I know multiple sub-1:50 guys in the 800 that would have difficulty or wouldn't fair much better in that workout.
If she is breaking 20:00 for 4 mile tempo runs and can only manage 15:40 while racing, she's severly overworking herself in practice.
Sub-20:00 for 4 miles at true tempo effort indicates sub-15 shape no matter who you are. I've got athletes who can't tempo sub-20:00 for 4 miles that can still break 15 minutes.
It doesn't matter what her coaches say, physiology is physiology. She's either full of it, can't race worth crap (which we know that's not true) or she's taking something illegally in training.
Martinez is a lying crook. Just like her thug of a husband.

End thread.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you find out her 400m best is 51.0? I find that astounding. Do you have a source for that besides Brenda's own word?
This is Caster running 50.4, apparently only .6 of a second faster than Brenda is capable of. This thread has been yet another waste of discussion on 800m training.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DN0CBWefr9IGuys I have figured it out. She is in world record shape but bottles it mentally in races.
Hasn't Brenda always done amazing workouts that indicate a level above what her actual racing displays?

You numbnutz have no clue what she is doing. These aren't "workouts". They are race efforts done in practice. You can question whether you think she could actually run those times but you can't compare them to "workouts" because that is not what they are.
She posted a workout on her instagram recently. 5xmile, 5:01, 4:59, 4:55, 4:56, 4:57, then a 400 and 200 in 55.15, 26.23 respectively.
Pretty insane stuff for a 1:58/15:45 runner...
Seems pretty much impossible unless it is downhill.

Bekele's 2 mile PB is 8:04.
Don't be a douche
Brenda is the real deal. I have known her since she was a 9th grader in HS. She is honest, dedicated, and the hardest and focused runner I have ever known.
She attacks with such a positive attitude, you cannot discount what she says as shady.
Together with her husband, who keeps track of her workouts and conditioning, and Joe Vigil who gets feedback from her husband then formulates the training plan, Brenda still has quite a career ahead of her.
Her progress has been amazing since leaving UCR. She went from All-American to one of the World's best. I think as a world caliber athlete, the workouts she is posting are very, very believable.
I recall in HS, I was only a 9:30 two miler.
Coach gave us an insane workout, these were my results, all were 1/2 distance jog recovery, except after the two-mile 5 mins.
4x440 65-66
2x880 2:12- 2:13
1x Mi 4:47
1x 2 mi 10:20
1x 1mi 4:50
2x 880 2:12
4x440 65-66
4x220 all out 26's
Looking at my workout times and understanding my fitness level at the time, it would seem that this workout wasn't possible.
Yet, I did it. I see no reason that Brenda with proper rest, could not have done hers.
