I wonder how Mocko is doing.
I wonder how Mocko is doing.
Time to bring in the janitorial crew to mop up the off the back of the lead pack stragglers. Im looking at you Chris Mocko and Jeff Browning.
Elov, how you doing buddy?
Click "Display __ Records" and then pick more than 10 runners to see 11th place and higher.
Sandes had the hat backwards. You know he is picking off Jim for the W.
Jim, also 40min ahead of 2nd place via irunfar.
Does anybody know when he plans to get pacers?

Walmsley has been running like it was 60 degrees!!!!
Walmsley through 62 miles. 15 minutes under CR pace, but the heat of the day will be a huge factor. A win looks certain barring any major blowup, but the CR could be tough to get.

No CR today--too hot. It will be a survival run to the finish. Walmsley most likely to make it, but only if he has a pacer and sticks with them; unlike last years when he went off on his own, then mentally bonk, and then had no clue where he was supposed to go.

The CR does seem unlikely, but certainly not impossible. I would think that someone of Jim's caliber would learn from the mistake that he made last year and would not repeat it. I sure hope so, at least. C'mon Jim!!
If he gets across the river unscathed I think we still might see something special.
Is Yiou still in front? Anyone know how she's looking?

When he fell in the river last year it was because he was mentally toasted, and his legs were shot. Those are the reasons he sat down on the side of the road and then walked-ran to the finish. Just getting across the river without mishap won't solve the mentality and physicality issues. I think Walmsey takes the win but not in a course record.

What trail racer hasn't missed a turn in a race? Go back to running circles around a football field where your only mental bonk is running too many or not enough laps.

Ahem, Walmsey dropped his trail guide. Then he got lost.
sandes picked up 3 mins on walmsley over last 2 checkpoints... too early to call it a comeback?
This 2nd place man looks like he's struggling...

Alex Nichols looks better in third.
Then there's more and Mocko passed Elov for 8th (1.5 hours behind Jim)
Sandes made up about 3 minutes on Walmsey at the 62 mile mark. Now 54 minutes back.

He certainly looks fried.
Actually, his pacer dropped from stomach issues.
