Sandes is next, 30 minutes back.
That's great. From the photos of the top 5 males in this race so far Sandes looks to be the physically bigger of the bunch, maybe under the radar kind of guy. He placed second actually in the year the CR was set at WS. How does he do in heat? Probably well as he's a heat specialist. Maybe we'll see a battle of heat resistance between Jim and Ryan? Or maybe just Ryan versus the rest of the field, really.
At 24.4:
Walmsley 3:28
Sandes +30
Olsson,Buud +31
Clavery +34
Giblin, Castanyer +36
Denucci +37:30
Lorblanchet +39
Nichols +39:15

How are you guys getting these splits? There was a link posted in the thread, but it just has through the checkpoint at Red Star Ridge.

Nothing like a race where the leader is going 9 minute mile pace for the men, and 12 minute mile pace for the women. At a certain point, it is barely running.

I know, if we weren't so busy banging supermodels on our yachts, we'd be out there blowing these guys away on their hobby hike.
Wamsley in to Robinson Flat 30.3 mile aid station in 4:20, 10 minutes up on CR split.

Nothing like a race where you hit a marathon and you're barely a quarter of the way through
Herron must be out? No updates about her in a while

You mean like the US "championships" men's 10k where the first mile was at race-walking pace.
She probably dropped if she can't go for the win. She was in 22nd last check
Now listed as DNF - Herron

She's listed as DNF at 15.8 miles. Probably not recovered from Comrades.
