Thoughts on Mocko? I think he'll start picking off people Walmsley drops. Not sure if his start is a little slow though we're only 15-20 miles in.
yeah a little surprised mocko is taking it so easy, if he hasn't had some kind of issue. could see him absolutely cleaning up from 60 to 100, just unable to pull back walmsley and nichols.
waiting for more updates on women but initial 10 mile checkpoint has a lineup much different than the first mile 3 snow hike
Have Kaci, Herron and Magda strategically let the pack go ahead of them for chase method or are the outsiders naturally gunning it after a snow slog?
I definitely don't see him winning, but top 5 or even 3 with picking off the droppers. I can see him boosting after Forest Hill
Just letting them go I guess, surprised Herron isn't higher though
Those women's splits aren't correct. Andrea Huser now leading.
15 miles in (before the 15.8 mile Red Star Ridge aid station), irunfar reported:
Walmsley 2:20, not much up on the CR split of 2:28 at 15.8, probably slowed by snow.
Olsson +18:30,
Clavery +19:55,
Buud +20,
Sandes +20:30,
Giblin and Castanyer +20:45,
Nichols +25,
DeNucci +26
Women
Huser leads in 2:58
Lickteig and Boulet +9,
Violett +10:30,
Wang +13
Herron has fallen back a lot.
Eight minutes isn't enough for you? Sheesh!Go Magda!

What's wrong about them?
Of course the standings change, as the race progresses.

It's begun. There is no live video feed of the start like last year.
It wouldn't be an ultra without abysmal coverage.
Herron in 22nd .... 2:30 for 10.3 miles

It isn't 8 minutes. Like I said, just re-reporting Irunfar's reports, which were not from the aid station. 2:20 to 15 miles vs. 2:28 to 15.8 miles. Plus, I'm not complaining. Conditions are what they are. Hopefully they're past the snow.

Another reason to cheer for Walmsley. He's an underdog! Go Hoka Walmsley!
Looks like Mocko is running with Browning who is known for starting easy and finishing strong...
Herron started strong and fell off quickly. Suspect she isn't feeling well and will drop if she hasn't already done so. Don't see her sticking with it unless she has a shot at winning.

They were just messed up. Arbogast is 56 years old. She was never 12 minutes up on Boulet and Violett today. Looks like the tracking has been fixed or mostly fixed now though.
http://www.ultralive.net/ws100#tracking/leadersLooks like a big pack of guys going out conservatively, Mocko, Browning and Wardian in it

Wamsley at the 24.4 mile Duncan Canyon aid station in 3:28, 3 minutes up on the CR split.

That's hilarious. From first to to 22nd in 10 miles in A 100 MILE RACE. Her strategy is worse than a 6th grade kid at an annual Firecracker 4th of July 5k.
