A other reason track is a shit event to promote. Come out and watch our champions do the minimum it takes to advance.
It's fine. It's like the top seeds in the NFL getting byes to the divisional round.
They let them run since it gives NBC the story they want.
NBC does not treat track as a real sport, but as an opportunity to sell a "story".
That is also why they only push the olympics and not the sport of track.
Just sad for the athletes and the sport.

Yes, he has a bye and will only be running the 200m at trials.
Anyone think the 400 qualification format is a little off? Top 4 from each heat advance... why not top 2 + next 6 fastest?
I guess I'm feeling bad for little Kerley who would have won the 2nd heat (and ran the 5th fastest time overall), but won't make the final...
I'm not a fan of English Gardner. She seems very angry. Not the the kind of anger you need to run on "Pure Hate". She scares me a little, Alyson Felix on the other hand does not scare me.
Bowie reminds me of the sister in Coming to America
taylor better be on his game at worlds, because claye has been on form this year. Great series today (and he isn't done yet).
Oh no, please no, not Jonathan fault gault talking out of his arse...
So for everyone who thinks the 100 has not peaking, take a look at the women's results. THer Oregon Ducks who almost blew NCAAs both made the team whereas the NCAA champ didn't even make it out of the first round.

I don't know much about the 100 but unlike Ato, I think Coleman will crush Gatlin.
I have no idea what you're saying, rojo.
Nope - Gatlin gets it Rojo!
Tori Bowie is under hyped.
Wow!!! Gatlin!!!!! Didn't think he could beat Coleman today. Impressive as hell.
Great race.
Nice job to Gait and Coleman
gatlin and coleman are on a completely different level than the rest of the americans this year. Good run by both of them into a decent headwind.
experience kids, experience. Justin Gatlin knows how to run. period.
will claye now 9th AT in the TJ.
I love Piazza
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
