Hi Nick,
How do I become a cereal entrepreneur?
I was expecting at least a sub 1:50. A 1:52 is 10 seconds slower than his PR!
Thank You Nick Symmonds.... wrote:

Amen!
For what. Being a huge hypocrite? Not caring about the sport or other athlete until he had to promote something. For embarrassing himself
Sorry, he lost me with his schtick since London.

Amen. Dozens of clutch runs and, while maybe not my favorite personality, actually had a personality to bring in some attention.
Nick,
My kids love you. "I could watch this the whole day" - in reference to your videos.
Job well done !!!
You kids need to get out more
I think he said he was 10 lbs overweight. I'm surpised he ran as fast as he did.

I think it´s even worse to be a basement dwelling, wanking virgin. Perhaps you should train some more so you can break 18 in the 5k some day.
Last year the (had 2016) Nick was in shape to make the podium but tore a ligament in his ankle running some 200's and there was no time to fully rebab for Trials16, although he went on to rehabilitate it and it held up well this year.
Unfortunately, as with many aging athletes, Nick suffered a couple of nagging injuries this year including a small quad tear that took time to heal.
So unfortunately for Nick, the clock just ran out for him this year. He posted a 1:49.2 when he was in 1:49 shape in Portland. The thought was that with an extra couple of training sessions and some good clean living that he might throw a Hail Mary! and get through the prelims and live to race another day.
Alas, it was not meant to be. Big Bisons only run so fast in 107 degree heat.
As I look back I remember watching Johnny Gray's last 800 in Hornet Stadium. Marion and Jackie were long jumping at the same time.JJK's final OlyTrials... And now we witness the retirement run of Nick in the same venue. But unlike at the moment of Grays retirement, there are a slew of real 800m talent in this country and the discipline is as healthy as it has ever been.
Then again, that's just.........
