Hunter gets the q!
Hunter gets the q!
Well that was unfortunate for Wheating. Clearly had more left and just couldn't get out.
LOL wow once again Kyle M proves to be the biggest choker ever when it comes to championship racing. Can't even get out of the first round.
murphy either has supreme confidence in his finish or was feeling the 800m more than he thought, because he left that LATE. 9th with 100m to go and moved up to 4th to get the first time qualifier.
I'd say confidence
He's always in the right place at the right time, 800 wasn't very hard either as well
We've reached the point where it is no longer 'unfortunate' with wheating.
He had proved his incompetence more times than not. Being boxed in is not 'unfortunate,' it is careless and unskilled.

NBC are such idiots. Nobody is going to watch their streams of diamond league meets and worlds or whatever their $70 package covers.
Wrong again.
Hunter a running disaster - almost takes out Murphy on lap 3 and flounders down the home stretch. He needs a new event, maybe as a road runner or roller derby.
This 1500m final is wide open save Centro making the team...
Blank has a great chance, but so does Gregorek, Engels, Andrews AND Murphy.
That's 5 names with a great shot for 2 spots.
I thought Murphy was out of it but man I think he's over his head doing the double
A disaster who made the finals of the USA Championship as a 19 year old in a boom era for US mid-d running.

what the hell happened to Garcia, she looked like a blind person running their first ever steeple doing a lot of those barriers.
Wonder if she had an injury which made it difficult to jump off one of her legs/foot?
Either that or she's developed a hiccup of fear of the barriers.
heat 3 was crazy. With 200 to go, Murphy was in 9th. He tried to be patietn but finally went wide about halfway around the turn as it was tightly bunched.. He moved up to 4th at the end and advanced on time.
Early on Murphy gave Centro a shove around 900. And coming home, there was some contact between Geoghegan and Hunter as hunter was desperately trying to advance and Geoghegan was starting to tie up.
Andrew Wheating right to the lead with Centro sitting right on him and CU’s Ben Saarel in 3rd; Murphy sitting mid-pack. Wheating takes them through 400 in about 57-seconds . Wheating continues to lead Centro and Gregorek, Muprhy still mid-pack, but moving up as they hit 800 in around 159-2-flat. Centro moves up on Wheating’s shoulder and they are running side-by side; Murphy back in 6th boxed in at this point. (Drew Hunter almost went down after some contact.) With 1 to go Wheating still leads Centro on his shoulder. On backstraight Centro takes the lead as Gregorek moves up on the outside and follows. Murphy way back. Centro and Gregorek running side by side; Will Gohegan 3rd. Everyone still in it with 100 to go. Wow, what a finish, Oregon’s Sam Prakel blasts the final meters to just nip Gregorek and Centro to take the heat while Murphy goes out to lane 3 or 4 to move up on the outside to get 4th. After doing the early leading, Wheating comes in at 8th. All the time qualifiers from this heat with Drew Hunter getting the final spot.

David MF Ribich. A 4:10 1500m runner in HS makes it to the final!
Dreams do become reality
Anyone want to periscope NBC Sports gold feed or live action if you are there???

source? I'm showing him still listed in the results as a qualifier. FWIW ben saarel would be the direct beneficiary, although others could appeal and get in as well.
D2 1500m Ribich making it through on time. Taking out some big time names.

On paper, Centro, Murphy & Blank are shoe-ins. Unless he purposely finishes "only" top 3 & saves a little for his 800M final the next day, I pick Murphy to win.
