What electrolyte drink works best and doesn't include a bunch of nasty sugars and chemicals.
SOS VS. Pedialyte?

Water and some real food.
Pabst Blue Ribbon. In a goddamned can.
Electrolytes are chemicals. Water is made from chemicals. Air is made from chemicals.
Body Armor
Brawndo.
I prefer Nuun. Available at REI and other outdoor stores, as well as on their website. No overly sugary taste or sticky mouth. The hydration tablets dissolve easily.
Water and air are made from elements dumazz.

Pickle juice.
I like powerade zero, usually cut it half and half with water.
Depends if u want just hydration or hydration + sugar/carbs. Pedialyte has a lot more sugar, whereas SOS looks to be mostly high levels of electro's. Seems to be what a lot of pro's use, but Pedialyte is def cheaper.
I just googled pedialyte ingredients. Had no idea how many f**king artificial ingredients are in it, not to mention sugar. Its basically the same as gatorade! Are people actually giving it to kids? No wonder everyone has f**king diabetes
the sos website says its organic. not sure if that has any kind of performance benefits but there is a pic of Nick Willis on the site as well and they claim it is as effective as an IV drip. am surprised salazar didnt have a case ordered before anyone else and have it injected
I'LL HAVE WHATEVER HES HAVING!!!! HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!
Skratch is the best I have found, electrolyte profile similar to what you lose sweating, zero artificial ingredients, moderate sugar level which actually speeds absorption of the liquid into your gut, tastes good

I used Pedialyte once after I was sick with the sh1ts, it is good for that. SOS might be better for high performance. Willis claims that he drinks it right up to minutes before a race.
For phukk's sake, what's wrong with plain old gatorade? Cut it half and half if the sugar content is too high, but it's available everywhere, cheap, reliable and predictable. I have learned to detest race directors who take payouts from these weirdo little companies that market "fancy" electrolyte drinks and use it on their courses. Gatorade. Just use it.
Gatorade powder mix. It tastes better than the bottled version, and it's cheaper, too.

Couldnt have put it better myself. I water mine down a bit because I don't prefer it so sweet but it's still the most effective and I can find the large bottles for 88 cents each on sale.
My pet peeve is our local runners complaining online about how they will carry their pricier electrolyte drink during their five marathon. You can carry a gallon of tailwind in handhelds or you could just drink what the race supplies, that you've already paid for.
